Our thanks to Nigel for this (Telegraph, £). He writes:
“Though this highlights ethnicity and race it includes women as “minority”. The most telling thing is that the women (and males from favoured groups) are invited specifically to the extra help and told not to reveal this to their colleagues. [J4MB emphasis] Which suggests the Met’s top brass realise how bad this will look to the majority of their force (oops sorry “service” we can’t have it being forceful can we?) . Looks like a pretty good way to undermine morale to me.”
GB News covered the issue yesterday, here. It includes a video (4:50) of their presenter Nana Akua, talking about the issue. The text on the link starts with this:
“Urgh.. here we go again.
Previously we had West Yorkshire Police being accused of having a “racist” recruitment policy for putting a temporary block on the hiring of white candidates.
Now we have the Metropolitan Police offering bespoke workshops to ethnic minority and female candidates to help them gain promotions.
Why? A former officer who served in the Met for three decades told The Telegraph: “Ethnic and female officers are individually selected and given additional workshops, coaching and access to professional coaches to make sure they are better prepared for the final promotion exam.
“White males are excluded from these workshops simply because of their biological sex and colour of their skin.” [J4MB emphasis]
Apparently eligible ethnic minorities candidates are sent an email that reads: “You have been selected to attend this workshop as the Met has a series of People Priorities, which underpin the organisation’s overall strategy, one of which is to improve black and minority ethnic and female representation at all police officer ranks.
“As part of the approach to achieving this, frameworks for focused support are provided for both BME and female candidates to nurture and develop their talents, including provisions to support preparation for assessment – this workshop is one such provision.
“Therefore we ask that you do not share this email with your colleagues as all eligible candidates have been invited individually.” [J4MB emphasis]
Yes – of course they don’t want you to share this, they know it’s wrong. The fact that you think that because I’m black, I will need bespoke coaching to get a promotion tells me that either you don’t think black people are good enough because of the colour of their skin or it’s an admission that those controlling the hiring are racist.”

Since 1919, the person holding the title of Viscount Rothermere has served as chairman of Daily Mail and General Trust plc. As of 2022 the titles are held by the first Viscount’s great-grandson, the fourth Viscount, who succeeded his father in 1998.
The open letter of the title was written by Julian Mann and posted on TCW today. I was particularly pleased to read this (it takes up the remainder of this blog post):
“It is certainly true that providing stable homes for children involves much mundane hard work for parents and self-sacrifice. Married men make sacrifices for their families as well as women. As Berlinda Brown put well it in an article for The Conservative Woman in 2022, ‘In Praise of Marriage’:
‘Marriage is a demanding relationship. It is not just about loving and cherishing another. This is perhaps the easier part. It involves risking one’s life and wellbeing because one has to trust that one’s spouse will love and cherish in return. Risk and trust are essential to the marriage contract and may explain why marriage produces high rewards.’ “

An interesting video (15:20) published a week ago. It is projected that by 2050 indigenous British white people will represent a minority of the population in the UK (that point was reached many years ago in London). The most popular comment (after a pinned one):
“It would be called ethnic cleansing in most other countries.”
The full GB News interview (1:18:56) from which the video above was extracted is titled ‘It’s concerning’ Douglas Murray on the decline of the white British.
Murray’s latest book On Democracies and Death Cults: Israel and the Future of Civilization was published last month. The Amazon description takes up the remainder of this blog piece:
“In his travels through Israel and Gaza, #1 International Bestselling author Douglas Murray has seen the best and the worst humanity has to offer, and he has no trouble choosing a side.
Murray is not Jewish and before October 7, he had never lived in Israel. However, he objects to being lied to, and Israel has been on the receiving end of the biggest, deepest, longest lies in history.
Israel’s commitment to fundamental Western values—capitalism, individual rights, democracy, and reason—has made it a beacon of progress in a region dominated by authoritarianism and extremism. Israel’s principles vividly contrast with the ideology of Hamas, which openly proclaims its love of death over life. With incisive moral clarity, On Democracies and Death Cults exposes how the campus left and international establishment confuse this conflict by:
Drawing from intensive on-the-ground reporting in Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon, Douglas Murray places the latest violence in its proper historical context. He takes readers on a harrowing journey through the aftermath of the October 7 massacre, piecing together the exclusive accounts from victims, survivors, and even the terrorists responsible for the atrocities. If left unchecked, misplaced sympathy could embolden forces that seek to undermine not only Israel, but all of Western civilization.”

Laura Bates, 38, should need no introduction to followers of this blog. She founded the Everyday Sexism Project (the Everyday Whining Project) in 2012. She won our Lying Feminist of the Month award twice in the space of a few months. She lied to Jeremy Vine on his BBC2 radio show (7.5 million listeners) in 2013, when we were both interviewed soon after we launched J4MB as a political party in 2013. She libelled a number of MRAs (including myself) in Men Who Hate Women, and made the laughable claim in that book that she turned up to a men’s issues conference in London.
She clearly has an anxiety disorder, and it’s become markedly worse over time. In today’s Times (£) there’s a long interview with her, Laura Bates: ‘I’ll get 200 rape and death threats on a bad day’. The male “journalist” is utterly uncritical of her throughout, treating her like an anxious child whose every utterance must be regarded as truthful, and the readers’ comments are virtually all supportive of her.
In her new book The New Age of Sexism, she claims to have presented herself as an avatar in cyberspace, where she is “groped and abused in virtual reality” (but not, of course, in reality – a foreign land to her?) Then this: “Posing as a man, she commands her smartphone to summon into semi-existence an 18-year-old AI girlfriend who is up for being sexually abused.” Semi-existence? What the hell is that? Non-existence with bells on?
It would be hard to create narratives more likely to make women (already prone to irrational levels of anxiety) believe that men are depraved and sadistic monsters, that men hate women and wish to harm them, when the age-old reality is that men are the great protectors of women and children, and their absence from the family leads to a range of problems. Also, something you’ll never find Bates admitting, something she’d probably find quite impossible to believe, women are more likely to be abused by a female partner than by a male partner.
Feminists are, of course, the only people who seek to exploit women’s anxiety for personal gain, most obviously seen in their rape and domestic abuse industries, through spreading lies about the issues. But I think Bates may be a curious exception, although she has spread lies about issues and has surely profited mightily from her book deals, personal appearances etc. She seems to genuinely believes her own rhetoric, and those who owe her a duty of care – such as her New York-based publisher Simon & Schuster – instead cynically exploit her.
I am convinced that Bates is, psychologically, a frightened girl trapped in a woman’s body. She’s a classic example of female “failure to launch” as an adult. I fear that she will come to a point where her sense of victimhood and hysteria become so overwhelming that she considers suicide (if she hasn’t already). She needs psychological help NOW and should have had it many years ago, for the sake of not only herself but also other women (and men).
