Two women and a man (Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman) to host BBC’s Match of the Day

Another nail in the coffin of BBC sports coverage. From Mark Chapman, the token man of the trio:

“There’s something really quite nice about the three of us having all worked together for so many years, all at a similar age, to have this opportunity together as three friends. It’s really lovely,” he said. “There’s absolutely no competition between us. I just can’t wait to be working with two friends, where we’ve grown up working together and we feel like we have a team.”

All a bit depressing for soccer fans, to counter which I bring you a gem of a video, the contents of which are new to me at least, Dumbest Mistakes in Women Soccer (8:14).

Helen Pitcher, chair of miscarriages of justice review body, quits

Our thanks to Mandy for this. Of course the Helen Pitcher believes she’s been made a “scapegoat” in relation to failings over the Andy Malkinson affair, which saw Mr Malkinson spend 17 years in jail for a rape he did not commit.

Time and again we see women who lead organisations refusing to accept responsibility for their failings. They will take credit for a team’s successes, but not take the blame for its failings. This is just one of many manifestations of women’s general inability / unwillingness to admit they’re in the wrong, or have failed.

How an AI Brad Pitt fraudster convinced a French woman, 53, to split with her millionaire husband and fund star’s ‘cancer treatment’

Our thanks to Ken for this. I’m beginning to have doubts about my relationship with Cameron Diaz.
