Mick Fleetwood – English Rose

Hopefully most of this blog’s followers will know of the existence of the band Fleetwood Mac, The start of their Wikipedia page:

Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band formed in London in 1967 by guitarist and singer Peter Green. Green named the band by combining the surnames of drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie, who have remained with the band throughout its many line-up changes. Fleetwood Mac have sold more than 120 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands.”

I’ve just stumbled upon and enjoyed (on Amazon) their wonderful 1968 compilation album English Rose. It’s worth checking out the link if only to see the hilarious cover design of Mick Fleetwood in drag.

6’6” tall Mick Fleetwood, 77, has long lived on the island of Maui, the second largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago. An article from a local paper from around 2011, Rock Meets Mountain.

A crushing blow for men everywhere. After 35 years of lezzerism, Julie Bindel declares “there is truly no turning back for me.”

Julie Bindel has just published My Top Ten Lesbian Kisses. #2 is her own:

My lesbian kiss from the 1970s

I was 15, and had a rash on my chin from kissing my one and only boyfriend [J4MB: Hopefully he’s received the therapy he must have needed over the years.] His beard stubble, sloppy mouth and persistent tongue were a distant memory by the time I was tickling the tonsils of my best schoolfriend. Her soft lips and sweet breath converted me to lezzerism immediately, and there is truly no turning back for me, almost 35 years later.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore Promises a Focus in 2025 on Men and Boys

An interesting video (3:27) on Tom Golden’s Substack. I’ve posted the following comments:

“Thanks Tom, good to see this. But of course there’s no mention of the elephant in the room.

WHY do men and boys need “uplifting”? They didn’t need it historically. It’s because for over half a century (in particular) they’ve been disadvantaged by female privileging. Two sides of the same coin. Men and boys cannot be “uplifted” without ending female privileging. It really is as simple as that, and no politicians are willing to accept the fact, let alone state it publicly.”

Feminist AI: transforming and challenging the current Artificial Intelligence (AI) Industry

Our thanks to Steve for this. An extract takes up the rest of this blog piece:

What does a ‘feminist approach’ mean for Generative AI (GenAI)?

Although the term ‘feminist’ may seem to refer to women only, [J4MB: No shit, Sherlock!] a feminist approach to technology expands beyond addressing gender disparities to encompass a broader spectrum of social inequalities, says Colombo. A ‘feminist approach’ to Generative AI (GenAI) involves a thorough reassessment of how we think about, create, and apply this technology.

A ‘feminist approach’ requires us to critically examine the power dynamics and forms of oppression inherent in society, and reflected by AI and GenAI, and to actively elevate the voices of those who have traditionally been marginalised, such as women. Colombo elaborates: “This means considering how GenAI can be developed with greater ethical integrity, tailored to benefit those with less societal privilege, and aligned with the values and needs of marginalised communities. Ultimately, it’s about using technology as a tool for empowerment and social justice, to address issues such as healthcare disparities and economic inequality.”
