JANET STREET-PORTER: Prince Andrew is now so irrelevant he was invisible at his own daughter’s wedding but, be honest, ladies – haven’t most middle-aged men outlived their usefulness?

Our thanks to Natty for this story.

How galling it must be at the home the couple share in the Royal Lodge, where Sarah is pounding out another story to bring in the cash and Andrew is slumped in a chair. All over the country, women can relate to that situation. Middle aged men are brilliant at . . . . can you even complete that sentence? Women work all hours as well as running the home. Men work on their expanding waistlines.

Prince Andrew has no skills, no mates and no redeeming features. And so many modern middle aged (and over) blokes are like that. That’s why women have drinks parties with their mates on zoom, binge watch Netflix…and only laugh when they’re talking to gay men or their girlfriends.

Young women have seen the future and are planning ahead- freezing their eggs and picking male donors from catalogues.

Soon, most men will be redundant. Andrew is just ahead of his time.”

Says the bitter misandrist who earns a living penning articles dull at best and spiteful at worst, about Royal weddings… The ultimate in toxic hubris and ignorance.

Do you need a chief feminism officer?

Women are strong, women are amazing, women need official representatives in places of business pushing them into partnerships and senior leadership positions or they’ll never realise their true potential, according to People Management.

Readers of this blog will be familiar with Catherine Hakim’s work on Preference Theory (that shows that a smaller proportion of women are work-centred as compared to men), readers may also be familiar with Susan Pinker’s book The Sexual Paradox (which includes an interesting exploration of why successful women often choose to redirect their efforts) and with Joanna Williams’ Women Vs Feminism (in which she argues that the removal of systemic and cultural barriers to women at work which have existed previously; coupled with the over-representation of women in junior positions in many sectors today are seeds that will ensure the minimisation of the gender gap at higher levels in the future naturally). Readers of this blog, therefore, are unlikely to accept the underlying assumption that inspires the creation of roles like Chief Feminism Officer, that women are disadvantaged in the workplace. And if women are not disadvantaged in the workplace and they have significantly more support than men – then men are, in fact, disadvantaged, as per usual.

Mrs. America: Come For The Feminism, Stay For The Fashion

Mrs America is now streaming on BBC iPlayer (9 x 43:00 episodes). Documenting the road to the Equal Rights Amendment in the U.S., according to MSN, Gloria Steinem isn’t very happy with it and the clothes are great, so I reckon it may well be worth a second glance!

How to Build a Girl – the Caitlyn Moran film you’ve been waiting for!

The film adaptation of Caitlyn Moran’s semi-autobiographical book of the same name is due for release on Prime Video on July the 24th. Audiences will be thrilled and awed with a scene involving a bloody sanitary towel falling out of the lead actresses’ shorts but Caitlyn was told The Metro of her disappointment that an opening scene “with a musical number, with her masturbating with all of her w*nk fantasies kind of parading in front of her. Like Aslan, the three sailors from the musical On The Town and maybe some Muppets… Gonzo, I find him quite attractive… But the copyright issues were incredibly expensive.” Fans of Moran’s novel may be disappointed too – to find that the scene in which ‘Johanna’ masturbates next to her six-year-old brother was left out of the script.

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes have rated the film a respectable 79% – it may be interesting to find out how audiences rate it once it’s released…

Marc Angelucci murder linked to a second at a federal judges’ home

By now, you may have already put two and two together, noticed the identical modus operandi in the murders of Marc Angelucci and Daniel Anderl, Judge Esther Salas’ son, and began to piece together possible motivations that may have driven Den Hollander to commit these atrocious acts.

In a recent episode of Regarding Men (video, 27:57), Paul Elam confirmed that Hollander had published articles on A Voice for Men – until he posted one with a line about firearms being one remaining power that men still held (at which point A Voice for Men pulled the piece, said goodbye to Hollander and started vetting their articles, because “the MRM puts crazies in their place”).

Despite a search for “Den Hollander Men’s Rights” returning countless articles labelling him a Men’s Rights Activist, Hollander himself confirmed that there is no good blood between him and the Men’s Rights Movement, writing the following in his manifesto (p.97):

There is one honest and fair article on USA Today, quoting Cassie Jaye as a source on Angelucci’s character.

Gov. Gen. Payette has created a toxic climate of harassment and verbal abuse at Rideau Hall, sources allege

Our thanks to Greg for this story.

Trudeau appointed Governor General Julie Payette is everything feminists could possibly want in a woman – engineer, astronaut and now occupying a high profile political role.

Less than a month into her position (a largely ceremonial role intended to carry out responsibilities on behalf of the Queen and to unify Canada), she used a speech to mock climate change sceptics and people of faith.

Now, it emerges that as a boss she is abusive in the extreme, repeatedly leaving employees in tears and losing members of staff to resignation one after another. The incredible CBC report detailing what’s been going on is well worth reading.

Perhaps it will comfort Payette’s harassed employees to recall the dominant feminist narrative on women leaders, as espoused by Michelle P. King at CNN:

What people need now are leaders with empathy, compassion and an ability to show support — skills that women leaders tend to exhibit more than men.“

Women do indeed tend to score higher on Baron-Cohen’s Empathy Quotient test. Perhaps Payette would score remarkably low for a woman (she is a remarkable woman, after all) but perhaps not – perhaps it’s her very feminine skills that enable her instinctively to emotionally torture her staff.

Tribute to Marc Angelucci, from Warren Farrell

A tribute that Warren Farrell posted to Facebook:

Angelucci in Italian means “little angel”

I love Marc. This is the worst news I have heard about a colleague in my lifetime. Few people I know integrated their heart, mind and integrity as selflessly and effectively as Marc. With all his struggles with Crohn’s disease, he nevertheless persisted to help both individuals and our nation consider men’s lives with equal respect to women’s in a world that is blind to the need for that.

The pain for me is excruciating because I met Marc when he was at UCLA Law School and he told me he had read The Myth of Male Power and wanted permission to excerpt parts of it for his articles in UCLA’s Daily Bruin. He then assisted me conducting workshops at Esalen in such a devoted and caring way. He is the ultimate humanist. And of course, Angelucci in Italian means “little angel”

I suggest we create a Marc Angelucci Memorial Fellowship to support attorneys to do pro bono work to continue challenges to inequities such as male-only draft registration, and to help poorer fathers fight to give their children a lifetime of love and security. Let’s continue Marc’s leadership to end the era of mothers having the right to children, and dads having to fight for children.“

Tribute to Marc Angelucci, from Tim Goldich

Tim Goldich had the following to say about Marc Angelucci (via Facebook):

On Saturday July 11, the day before yesterday, friend and colleague Marc Angelucci was murdered. We don’t have a lot of facts, but Marc was a lawyer who championed men’s issues and championed people bullied by the powers that be. Most of the work Marc did, he did pro bono.

First and foremost, I knew Marc as a great guy to hang out with. I was blessed to do so only about a half-dozen times over the years, but, as anyone who knew Marc can tell you, he had a “magic” that made you feel you were special friends right from the start.

Marc was always supportive. He always took the time to check out my Gender Equalist page. For someone so busy I was amazed how often he gave my Internet posts a “thumbs up.”

Marc had charisma, you felt good being around him. He had a remarkable joy of life and late at night when others were ready to go off to bed, Marc was just getting started. Hanging out with Marc was an adventure and you just tried to keep up. We did karaoke a few times together. I’d always do “King of the Road,” and Marc would always do “Big Balls” by AC/DC.

“Well I’m rather upper class high society
God’s gift to ballroom notoriety
And I always fill my ballroom
The event is never small
The social pages say I’ve got
The biggest balls of all

[Chorus]
I’ve got big balls
I’ve got big balls
They’re such big balls
And they’re dirty big balls
And he’s got big balls
And she’s got big balls
(But we’ve got the biggest balls of them all)”

It was hilarious. And Marc would dance while he sang and he really put on a show!

Marc did indeed have “big balls.” He spoke truth to power. He was dynamic, risk taking, courageous, and I’ll miss him.”
