Trump: “It’s a very scary time for young men in America.”

“You can be somebody that was perfect your entire life, and somebody could accuse you of something,” Trump told reporters at The White House.

When asked what his message was for young women, Trump responded, “Women are doing great.”

“Physics was invented and built by men” – says Cern scientist, shortly before he’s suspended.

Our thanks to Stu and Jonathan for bringing this to our attention.

Addressing a crowd (of, reportedly, mainly women) at an event on physics and gender, Alessandro Strumia said that “physics was invented and built by men, it’s not by invitation” and described how men are discriminated against in the field, to privilege women. He also suggested that the reason for low levels of representation of women in physics may be biological.

Cern announced his suspension pending an investigation with immediate notice on the 1st of October.

Kenneth Gibson, SNP, points out that working fathers lack equality

Our thanks to Douglas for this link.

“Although women who do not qualify for statutory maternity pay can receive maternity allowance, new fathers, potential fathers or carers-to-be who wish to take paternity leave but do not meet the statutory paternity pay conditions have no access to a paternity allowance. The fact that such provision does not exist in UK employment law represents a clear inequality that should and must be remedied.”
