Our thanks to Alan for this. An extract:
“An investigation into a rape outside a church in Epsom has been closed after police concluded “no sexual offence had occurred”.
Surrey Police said following its “thorough investigation” into the incident, which sparked protests and public disorder in the town, they now believe the woman concerned “sustained an accidental head injury” following a night out and made “a confused report”.
A spokesperson added: “The woman involved has given us permission to share this information and she continues to be supported by the relevant services.””
Alan writes:
“When this was first reported I was sceptical because of the alleged location and that it aligned so neatly with current concerns over immigration. Gang rapes by strangers are rare and ones in a busy public location vanishingly so.
Now that the accusation has utterly collapsed we have the usual situation that a woman who made a extremely serious false accusation, that led to serious public disorder and could easily have led to serious assaults or worse on anyone who fit here false accusation is let of scot free with the excuse that she suffered an accidental head injury and was ‘confused’. Reading between the lines she got drunk, fell over and then in order to seek attention and excuse herself she decided to claim to have been raped. Fortunately no one was arrested for rape but we had an assault on a policeman and some serious disorder as a result of her false claims, four people have been arrested for public order offenses and probably will be prosecuted whereas the instigator of it all will ‘continue to be supported’.
The absolute impunity of women who make reckless inflammatory false accusations just encourages more to be made. How much police time and money was wasted? Its only through chance that no one was seriously injured.”
Oh come on now we have to just “believe all women”. Clearly the “patriarchy” caused the victim to drink too much, fall over and suffer the trauma of an imaginary assault. In a sense the hue and cry is an example of the deep seated gynocentrism as people rushed to avenge the “victim”. As always its fascinating simply reversing the sexes. A man gets pi…ed falls over bangs his head and says he was assaulted by a gang. Followed by lots of trouble and strife. Turns out to be untrue…. would he “continue to be supported” or find himself in serious hot water maybe done for wasting police time or worse. I know its difficult but I doubt the general public has the least idea the parade of complete twaddle and the downright bizarre urban police forces deal with daily (probably rural ones too but i don’t know about them). Not helped by constant messaging that all sorts of things which are not actually offences or illegal (looking creepy, “manspreading”, “being loud”) are somehow an assault and get reported as such. I imagine the officers in this case are mightily fed up with the “victim” but of course the force PR person has to couch statements in the language of victimhood and therapy being as its a woman whose caused the ruckus.
