Alexander Grace interview with Stephen Baskerville and Bradley (NYC)

We’re big admirers of the output of the Australian vlogger Alexander Grace. His YouTube channel is here, the list of his videos we’ve linked to here.

We were pleased to learn that Stephen Baskerville and Bradley (NYC) recently interiewed Grace, Men Today Episode #5 – Masculinity in the Modern West (video, 1:40:41). I’m usually reluctant to recommend such lengthy videos but having watched it in full, I can make an exception in this case. Grace talks insightfully about numerous issues including the female fear of abandonment, and its deep roots in evolutionary psychology.

  1. Very good. This really rather illustrates many themes ‘You lose yourself’: inside the mental health crisis hitting gen X women | Mental health | The Guardian In a way the usual “whinge fest” of middle class women who mix up a shedload of trial problems with one or two real ones and include lots of biology which illustrates why they may not be the best bet for a stable productive workforce (the usual menopause “crisis). And of course its all about them….. female English lit. graduates with media or academic jobs. Meanwhile their contemporaries with a different biology are just doing fine and dandy. Mustn’t be getting cancers, not losing jobs due to AI, merrily single, not affected at all by divorce, easily able to retire at 60, not looking after elderly parents or worrying about offspring. Or maybe just not whining so much. What was that saying …. “its the empty vessel that makes the most noise”. Maybe the Guardian will do a piece on how grateful all these privileged Eng Lit graduates are that hoards of Gen X men just carry on keeping the society on the road in every sense of that word. Not likely is it?
