  1. Meanwhile in “woke” Britain As war rages in Iran, woke MoD asks troops: ‘Guys, do you want to wear make-up and nail polish?’ | Daily Mail Online Also reported by GB News. I have to say I’m sympathetic to this idea. It is after all “gender equal”. And reflects the slide in standards in all ways and places to make occupations female friendly. The most interesting thing is that no one wants to suggest that the other way of making the standards equal and fair is to apply the standards for men to women! Of course all of this reflects the reality that in fact women are invited in not as equals, but to create an appearance. Surely there is every reason for all soldiers to be neat tidy and without adornments that get in the way of their often arduous and difficult job. The idiocy was in not applying these requirements for some solders just because they’re female. It is a reasonable question, “if these standards are not essential to the job, as they can’t be if not applied to every recruit, then is there is no need for them?” and if they are necessary why not applied to females? Direct discrimination. Someone would have a good case under the Equality Act.
