Tragic. The start of the piece:
“An 18-year-old has been named as the suspect in a shooting that killed eight people and injured dozens more in British Columbia, Canada.
Police said Jesse Van Rootselaar was found dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot injury. The motive for the attack is not yet known.
Six people were killed and at least 25 others were injured at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Two others – the suspect’s mother, 39, and step-brother, 11 – were found dead at a nearby home.
Authorities said Van Rootselaar was born a biological male but identified as a woman.
“I can say that Jesse was born as a biological male who approximately six years ago began to transition to female,” Dwayne McDonald, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) deputy commissioner, said.”
Let that sink in. Jesse Van Rootselaar “began to transition to female” at the age of twelve. And now eight people are dead and dozens injured.

It does “make reason stare” that supposed psychological professionals can think its a good idea to take a confused child with an identity and body image problem and really “f….k” them up with hormones, surgery and psychotherapy. Now I often comment on things from Europe, despite being a “Brexity” sort I’m very european and seek news from a number of European outlets. Amongst the things that one doesn’t see in their media is a lot about “trans” in their own countries (the Dutch appear to cover it most). Which got me wondering is it largely a thing of the “Anglosphere”?
Given that Canada was where “trans” really went big (hence the unwanted fame of Dr. Jordan Peterson). I was surprised that the Police Chief “dead named” the shooter by pointing out “they” had been a “he” and had changed names to transition to a woman. Perhaps the “mis gendering” Law hadn’t got to the Canadian mid west.
