Ministers reject Waspi calls for compensation after rethink

Good news. The miserable women at the Women Against State Pension Inequality (Waspi) group should hang their heads in shame (but won’t, of course). On learning of the government’s decision, Angela Madden, who chairs the group, said, “Wah! Wah! Wah! It’s not fair!!!” then kicked a puppy into a fast-flowing river.

  1. Good news? Absolutely bloody fantastic news !!! Some of the most disingenuous and ideological people on God’s green earth. They’re called feminists ! They’re even using AI to generate images of suffragettes being force-fed, as if that’s their plight. I’m straight over to the WASPI Facebook page to ruffle some feathers. Happy days !🤣🤣

  2. I notice on the Article the BBC “Timeline” misses the crucial date where the differential pension age was declared against Human Rights legislation. The harmonisation was agreed on then, with the first part being that men could have national concessions (bus passes etc ) at 60 to be at least “equal” in those terms. The Gov. agreeing a timetable to achieve full equality. The equality being decades in coming meaning of course millions of men were “denied” equality before full equality in state pensions a couple of years ago. Any thought of compensation swamped by the sheer cost.

Certainly on the radio the lead comments in the news are as usual framed as if the government is being mean to “women”. I am surprised that the Gov. has shown some backbone on this, given its general belief in the “magic money tree” and the societal inclination to be nice to females (gynocentrism). I’m sure there will be legal challenges as the feminists legal charities are very well resourced.

Feminist support for this is yet another example of their hypocrisy. Given their beloved Human Rights court declared it against equality and the rectification being so long awaited, it prevented women from earning as much as men as they were expected to retire 5 years earlier! Raising the state pension age actually gave women the opportunity to earn more in work and build up more pension/savings! A win for the “gender wealth gap”. But of course in reality women want “choice” and “work/life balance” and certainly don’t want to work as hard and as long as men. Of course as usual the implications for men of the inequality to them are no where on their horizon.

I note that the Ombudsman’s report previously offered some small amounts of compensation, really as an attempt to be seen to be nice. I wonder that this may happen as it seems inconceivable that the current government won’t u turn to be seen as virtuous.
