El Salvador now requires DNA testing at birth to make certain that the father is not being defrauded by the mother by paternity fraud

Our thanks to Tom for this.

We’ve called for mandatory paternity testing at birth since J4MB was launched in 2013.

  1. Great news. It’s spreading. My fear is that Britain, which is all too often 30 or 40 years behind the rest of the world in implementing necessary reforms and changes, will drag its feet on this matter also. I’m praying to be proved wrong on that.

  2. In the past the excuse has been tests were intrusive. Now they are simple and need only tiniest sample. So the only reason to keep the mother’s ban (as is the case in the UK) is to deny the named (or indeed the unnamed father) verification of the mother’s claim. So the current ban only exists to continue to only take the mother’s “word” (or lets be honest in some cases guess) about paternity.
