    And here’s the corrosive thing. No conviction no case in court just a settled civil case settled with money. The mention of Mandelson highlights the power of gossip and scandal now, there no evidence or accusation of anything illegal at all. “never apologise never explain” formerly the wise approach of an institution that relies on a certain “mystique”. William will live to regret hanging his uncle out and giving in to the “mob”. Bullies who win only come back for more.
