A piece in yesterday’s Telegraph (£) Miliband admits wind power less reliable than expected. An extract:
“The changes were blamed on new modelling showing that wind turbines generated less power at various wind speeds than previously thought, as well as updated assumptions on what can cause turbines to lose power. [J4MB emphasis. A lack of wind, maybe? I’m no expert, though. I know almost nothing about wind energy, the only thing I have in common with Ed Miliband, it seems. The idiot must be fired. The whole Net Zero initiative is clearly based on magical thinking.]
A spokesman for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) did not address why the Government had revised its estimates down so drastically.”

“A spokesman for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) did not address why the Government had revised its estimates down so drastically.” I expect someone who could do maths had a look at them.

If this Government wishes people to use ‘green’ energy powered buses and trains in order to meet their Nut Zero ambitions, then they’d better make these safe for the public to use.
