  1. Actually this story Tower Hamlets mayor defends mosque decision to ban women and girls over the age of 12 from taking part in charity fun-run | The Standard This story does relate. In that it is widely reported in other press and there are prominent feminists saying it’s illegal, which it isn’t but it shows it would be if they had their way. Of course its not illegal because the Equality Act couldn’t make such things illegal without also prohibiting the myriad of women only, events, clubs, societies etc. The second point is that living in a City where 46% are not “white british” there are a host of such single sex clubs, events, meetings even worship from “diverse” communities of all religious persuasions and cultures who have as yet not found defining a “woman” in the least difficult nor the idea that single sex provision is only about “women’s safety”. Of course this also creates a “two tier” approach from our left wing Council. Refusing to hire spaces/rooms/ licencing events if they don’t conform to their “Diversity Policy” to “british” groups that are single sex but of course not applying the same standard to “ethnic” groups, for whom sex segregation is a normal feature.

On the UN scale I note that there is indeed a “Council” of the many Countries who, for various reasons, resent aid of all sorts being tied to conditions that undermine their cultural and religious traditions.

I know about this because of the Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade (still as described and affiliated to Methodists and Anglicans) and some of the problems the former has in its relationship with the council.

So my City is a microcosm of both the high handedness of the feminists and the resulting double standards and resentments it causes. They could simply mind their own business and let everyone just have their “fun run” etc. But for them “the private is political”.

  2. It’s always entertaining when the woke are forced to take sides, and cannot decide whose cause is higher ranking in the Oppression Olympics. During the Birmingham schools crisis, Muslim families protested because LGTBQ+ sex ‘education’ was seen as indoctrination, and (quite rightly) counter to the religious beliefs held by aforementioned families (If only Christianity were offered such protections).

Predictably, The Guardian offered the solution that the warring factions should forget their differences, and unite to continue the onslaught on the white heterosexual male (conveniently conflated with the far right, for moral acceptability).

  3. I only have some issue with the tense of the headline: “Feminism Is Turning into…”

It has been a totalitarian nightmare since… well, long before I was awake to its dangers decades ago now. It is a top-down ideological movement. In more and more countries, women’s anti-feminist groups are popping up to try to combat it. The problem now is that feminism is a global industry worth billions, and few people readily give up their job – or their cushy little business creaming off the taxpayer. There is more than an ideology to fight now, and trying to winkle feminism out of the UN is all but impossible since the structural changes they made several years ago.
