She also said the industry needed to stop holding women to a higher standard than men.
“We’re perceived to be a higher risk candidate, [J4MB: Hmm, why might that be? The appalling track record of women in CEO roles, and the causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial DECLINE? No, that can’t be it… it’s a mystery, all right!] and therefore the benchmark seems to go up,” she said.
“I don’t think men have the same need [as women] to be exceptional.” ” [J4MB: Yay, let’s appoint more mediocre candidates, so more women get appointed!!!]

The past couple of weeks there have been a load of men working down my road installing new “cable”. Yesterday , In the heat of the hottest afternoon in an August for some years in this area two were sealing the tarmacked infill with bituminous tape and a flame thrower. I pondered whether I had ever seen any females doing such work. “Glass cellar” came to mind and the peculiarly “Margot leadbeater” class snobbishness of western feminism, happy to pay peanuts to women to “childcare” and ignore the poor white young women victims of grooming gangs, while agonising over the temperature of air conditioning in offices and quotas for nice jobs in HQ.

Yup privileged western women wanting cushy office jobs with status completely unearned. The “reverse” in leadership in big business after the Pandemic reflects the fact that in even the most established businesses things became tougher and competition sharper. Fewer businesses could afford passengers installed to virtue signal on the latest trend. There are many disruptions for businesses as all sorts of new “winds” blow. Outside protected public services ( until the taxpayer revolts) I expect focus on results from “leadership” and less posturing.

Thanks Nigel. I recall years ago seeing a sign on the M1 northbound, “Keep to the speed limit, my Mum works here” with an image of a woman wearing a hard hat. I’ve never seen a woman working on any road including the M1.

However what particularly struck me was his analysis of the decline of the US, with economic growth falling below 4% to as low as 1%. This on the day the UK media is relieved UK grown in the last quarter was 0.03%, raising the prospect of 1%growth or less this year. The point is that the consequences of economic slowdown he describes as possible in the US are in fact a description of the UK’s economy today. Aaron Clary pointing out the US slowdown is a consequence of more and more “economically inactive” men (mirroring the situation here where large numbers never enter the workforce and claim benefits due to “disorders” ADHD, ASC, erc)and little encouragement for Male ambition or encouragement. Our own sclerotic and sputtering economy illustrates his point as the usual engine of economic progress, men and in particular younger men with ambitions to attract a mate and form a family. In trashing men someone has to do the things men do…and as yet women show no inclination to become dynamic. When doing my degree looked into late 19th Century economics. In particular renumeration practices. One such was the common practice of giving a pay rise to a newly married Male employee. The interesting thing was that this was a practice designed to secure the loyalty and commitment of an employee who now needed to look to the future and would be taking on more responsibilities at home. With typical Victorian dedication to recording stuff, this supposition was backed up by data by showing these outcomes were observable. Not a patriarchal plot but a cynical employer action to gain a dedicated loyal workforce feeling a “push” to seek promotion as home responsibilities grew. Aaron Clary documents the “slow decline” consequent on relying on women to take over the role as driver of economic wellbeing in an economy. A result of the economic level of “Kenya”.

All industries should be led by those who have worked their way up from lowlier positions, and therefore understand the business inside out. This would automatically exclude those who have an aversion for getting their hands dirty, or understanding technical concepts. There’s an Australian telecom company who got a female CEO, and believed that she could cut salaries of the engineers, and contract out the tech side if they got sniffy about it. There’s a British pharma company with a female CEO who generates money by selling off consumer subsidiaries and ‘buying in’ tech from start-up companies. With a long history of being a vaccine company, it failed miserably to compete during Covid.
Then, there’s the sad tale of ICI, once Britain’s largest manufacturing company. In 1994, for the very first time, it appointed a CEO from outside. Acquisitions were made, paying £2 Billion over the odds, lumbering the company with debt. By 2001, that CEO was gone. By the mid 2000s, ICI was gone. So – the consequences of lacking expertise in a specialist area can affect both male and female CEOs.
With the sex who are more risk averse, more stress prone, and with less dynamism and drive, the consequences are likely to manifest much more quickly. Unfortunately, through adherence to dogma, it looks as though we can expect an increasing percentage of managers in control of areas they know nothing about. Just like how politics works.

I expect nothing to be done, but yet again a Professor points out the obvious “gender gap” that reflects that our education system fails to properly educate boys. ‘Chronic’ under-performance of boys at GCSE should be treated as major issue | The Standard
He does at least point out the long term consequences of deliberately doing down boys. We all will be poorer in a stagnant society. I say deliberately because Mary Curnock-Cook, former head of UCAS repeatedly highlighted the gap and observed that the “blob” refused to do anything because of feminism. The reasoning being it is OK to short change boys in education because later in life they tend to earn more. The arrogance and moral bankruptcy of these supposed Educationalists is breathtaking, willing to deliberately discriminate against boys in developing their potential because they may in their future achieve more that their female contemporaries! Decent teachers would want every child to get the best from their education, and hope they all have good future lives.
