And next up will be a definition of “misogyny”, which will inevitably follow on from the Istanbul Convention, which our Parliament ratified a couple of years ago (at about the same time Turkey repudiated it). Elevating “feminism” to the status of a protected belief to be “anti” or even not a feminist will become “misogyny” and at the very least a “non crime hate incident” if not an actual public order offence , where sentencing will be harder if motivated by “misogyny”. Like “Islamophobia” “feminism” and “misogyny” will conveniently be broad enough to be “anything we the powers that be don’t like”. I’m not sure there will be much that can be done about it but MRAs (or indeed people just interested in actual equality and free speech) need to be alert to when this starts its passage through the byzantine processes of our Parliament.
