A piece in The Guardian. First, the good news:
“The City’s top two regulators have said they will not bring in new diversity and inclusion rules for financial firms because they want to avoid imposing extra “regulatory burdens” and costs, in the latest sign of a retreat from efforts to help underrepresented groups.” [J4MB translation into plain English: “… a retreat from efforts to increase the numbers of people from underrepresented groups, despite those groups not being held back by any discriminations, especially wimmin”.]
Then, the bad news:
“The Bank of England’s regulatory arm, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said they would instead support “voluntary industry initiatives” aimed at boosting diversity and inclusion in the financial sector.”
If the industry initiatives are truly “voluntary”, why would the PRA and FCA have any need to “support” them?

Not only good for real equal opportunities but a necessary step if we are going to halt the debt ridden slide of our nation into lower living standards. Having just read how Poland is projected to catch up a declining UK in five years it is clear that whatever else is done it is complete madness to hamstring our businesses through such policies that bloat their costs with employees that have to be carried because their productivity wasn’t the reason for their employment. Another drag on our economy it the deliberate sidelining in education, training and employment young men, precisely the part of the population that has supplied the energy, risk taking, inventiveness, single mindedness and oomph that propelled the industrial revolution and subsequent waves of wealth creation. Having watched with interest the progress of the conscription debates in Ukraine it was very educational the way that Ukrainians explicitly tried to balance the need for “boots on the ground” and to have young men available to rebuild their shattered economy, hence the unusual starting age of 25 (rather than the more usual 18 elsewhere). An explicit acknowledgement of the role men play in injecting dynamism into economic growth.
In the falling “real wages”, the extent of “economic inactivity” , ballooning public and private debt and “flatlining” productivity we see the result of a mindset that sees our prosperity as some sort of undeserved gift.
And accordingly have a workforce designed to have time off for; periods, menopause, “brain fogg”, “stress”, caring and all manner of “mental health” and which thinks 3 or 4 days a week is “full time” and no job should clash with a vague notion of work life “balance” (which oddly never seems to include more actual work). As well as valuing certain genitalia or skin colours above actual ability to do the work.
Our decline is not a inexplicable act of a capricious god (often personified as Trump these days) but the result of being out competed by countries whose workforces are actually being productive and actually do do work. As with the Finance industry the truth is the DEI/Woke stuff doesn’t add anything to productivity and wealth creation, in fact it can only exist while profits are good and lots of passengers can be carried by the business as competition stiffens …. well then they go out of business or get bought by foreign firms who expect their workforces to actually turn up and do the work they are paid to do.

Meanwhile the wave of “medicating” boys in schools is having dire consequences for our prosperity and the “diagnosed” become adults and remain “economically inactive” post 18. All of a sudden ADHD and the like is questioned. Why even Labour has realised the benefits system needs to be torn apart I’m sure there is simply gaming the system but one shouldn’t be surprised that young men who’ve been told there is something really wrong with them that needs medication and “support” in special schools or “units” within schools. Believe they are incapable of living a normal life. One can hope that the “crack down” might lead to a serious look at the ballooning numbers of boys “diagnosed” with ADHD, Asperger’s and Autism in schools.

The Army’s drive to have a higher percentage of women means reducing its effectiveness as a fighting force. As with the Police, Fire Services and RAF our safety and security is compromised by the application of “DEI”. ‘Horrendous’ army fitness standards require troops to be no fitter than children | UK | News | Express.co.uk
“One infantry PTI, who didn’t wish to be named, told the Express.co.uk: “Fitness standards are horrendous, the army is not prepared to fight. It is actually a joke.” And why is our Army acting in this way to reduce its effectiveness? Well until 2019 it had higher standards for men than women, but this is in fact unlawful and so it had to adopt a general standard “standards have become standardised regardless of gender but current tests require troops to run 400m less whilst being given an increased amount of time to do it within” and the tests changed to an “assessment” hat in practice isn’t enforced. No doubt achieving the goal of recruiting and retaining more women. But at the cost of our safety as our Army becomes less fit. The fiction that women and men are equally physically capable resulting in the reality that our Armed services are less effective.
