Seems the Pope was spot on. One can’t help think that the reason females could develop this gossip culture is because in the past they were protected by men who ran things on more rational lines, the gossip could flow because we ran things with due disregard to the gossips. Now even the news takes on the character of gossip as boring old facts and evidence are ignored in favour of gossip and feelings.
