Heather Mac Donald: “Hysterics for Hamas”

An excellent new piece from the estimable Heather Mac Donald, whose Wiki page is here.

Her page at the Manhattan Institute is here, she says it’s relatively complete with regard to her published work.

  1. I had not heard of her. Very direct and sensible. I find it amusing that such women as Heather Mac Donald actually embody the “virtues” that Mary Wolstencraft felt contemporary women lacked, due to being cosseted and protected and concerned only with appearances “bows and bonnets”. Of course this was long before Engels (again how ironic that it was a man) created the theory of “the patriarchy” in which all men purposefully oppressed all women. I do think we should revive the diagnosis of “neurasthenia” as Heather does here. It lost its cachet because it was based on cases of bourgeois women with too much time on their hands and too little to occupy their minds and hands. Very much the position of many a female student.
