  1. Very interesting. So much of this plays out in our modern stories, and who consumes them. Think of how many shows, films, books, which claim to be empowering women are in fact dependent on “magic” even in the “superhero” genre the female superpowers are most likely to have something that is more like magic than super strength, or unnatural skill etc. And of course Barbie the movie exemplifies this as the “powerful” women are magical goddesses and in fact the one character to go through the “hero” story arc is Ken , hence Ryan Gosling’s and Ken’s popularity. And more seriously the current feminist civil war is between the Judith Butlerites, essentially metaphysical magic whereby all forms of dreams of 30, 40, 50 different “genders” can come true through spells such as “pronouns” against the TERFs whose core argument is that women are virtue personified and all males are tainted by an original sin and evil that manifests even if they change their bodies or become as feminine as possible.

As one review of the latest feminist inspired BBC or ITV drama series begins. “Yet another where we know already (before even watching) that the men with be sinister and untrustworthy and the women insane.”

I must admit it is pretty obvious that feminists have long been anti Christian (even though the Catholic strain exalts women saints) but the book is an really interesting dissection of exactly what the strange occult beliefs/groups were.

  2. I was well aware of this mindset in my mum, sisters and female relative’s as a boy. The harm wanted, instead of love and sharing or caring.
