Denmark to start conscripting women for military service

Our thanks to Mike P for this. He writes:

“What a great idea! Someone has to be making the sandwiches while the men are risking their lives, after all.”

Good news: Sir Paul Marshall may acquire ownership of The Telegraph and The Spectator

Good news. Foreign governments will be blocked from owning UK newspapers and magazines amid concerns over the proposed UAE-backed takeover of The Telegraph and The Spectator. Leading potential buyers of the title include the estimable Sir Paul Marshall, a British hedge fund manager and Brexiteer and evangelical Christian said by The Sunday Times to be worth £630 million. He already owns UnHerd and GB News, and has invested tens of millions of pounds in the latter, keeping it afloat. We should be delighted if he were to add ownership of The Telegraph and The Spectator to his list of assets.

Budapest conference – discussion, promo video, why you should order your ticket(s) by 12 April

We’ve just released this video (17:01) to promote the Budapest conference (10,11 August). It’s in three sections:

  • a discussion with Paul Elam, Janice Fiamengo (keynote speaker in Budapest) and Mike Buchanan
  • a promotional video, created by Andy Johnston, who’ll be filming the speeches in Budapest (with Tom Caulfield, who filmed and edited all the conference videos since 2016, also in attendance)
  • an explanation of why, if you plan to attend the conference, you should order your ticket(s) no later than 12 April, a month from today.
