  1. Royals keep coming out with views like this. Usually Harry, now Edward. Increasingly, I find myself wondering: “Do we really need them? Are the Royals past their use by date?”

As they say in New York: “Enough already!”

  2. I predict, sadly, that the entire British monarchy will soon be extinct. Harry and Edward are helping that along nicely. South Africa is toast. I hope all the worthless celebrities that cried, wailed and bellyached about apartheid are happy that they have helped nail the coffin of any type of stability in South Africa and that the country will soon descend into total chaos.

  3. He is expressing the gynocentric view. Unsurprising really. A good example is the headline for this. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13030673/Men-women-easier.html#reader-comments The classic shaming tactic for any man who might think women don’t have it harder (or even equally hard) than men. The report is brief but predictably covered more in the Grauniad, Independent etc. Who major on Mr. Tate and his supposedly svengali like powers. Because it turns out that a slightly larger proportion of younger men think women have it easier, than “boomers”. Unsurprisingly young men are more likely to not like the label “toxic masculinity” (I suspect young women would not like “toxic femininity” if it was pushed at them in school lessons and the media).
If there is a shift amongst the young, and I hope there is. It is far more likely to be because they, far more than “boomers” , have had mass indoctrination at schools and colleges actually observed the privileges and “positive discrimination” accorded to their female contemporaries. They also have the benefit of co education and few single sex paces, so know that girls and women are not saintly beings but have all the failings and ego of teenagers. Prince Edward no doubt spent his formative years in single sex schooling, imagining fair damsels.

  4. And true to form BBCs newsnight manages to turn the story of a Male MP leaving politics because of threats, linked to the stabbing and death of another male MP, into one about “violence against women” and more money, services and education to counteract domestic violence! It would be funny if it wasn’t so dangerous.
