RISE of the TRADWIFE: Gen Z is BRINGING BACK Gender Roles, FALSE PROMISE Of Feminism?

Our thanks to Steve for this (video, 14:18). At one point one of the women reveals that credit card debt in the US exploded when American women were able to take them out in their own names. What are the chances? And what’s the betting that most of those debts were eventually settled by men, one way or another?

  1. As you point out all this is based on the assumption that men will simply carry on providing while women make all these “choices”. The other interesting assumption is that work is supposed to be enjoyable. I’m sure in the real world most people of either sex in fact make the best of the jobs they do to earn a living, rather than find them absolute pleasure. When such surveys bother to ask men, they too want more time to be with their children and enjoy life; but of course for them its a hypothetical question as in fact no one seriously expects them to actually do this. The data shows that men work longer hours when they become fathers (i had two jobs when my three children were at school), feminists often presenting this as a sign either of the evil pay gap (as if now fathers are simply paid more) or a sign fathers don’t care/like their children. I notice that the “trad wife” stuff generally includes making hard work of many tasks in the home that are in reality now catered for through technology i’e “doing the washing” is a matter of putting stuff in, selecting the programme, and thats it! If you choose to make heavy weather of running a home you can, but my experience is its pretty easy. However looking after and children can be hard graft, if you want to do it well.
“trad wife” I suppose may be good to stimulate an alternative to the feminist hegemony.
