What a bunch of crap!!!

Friends are all too familiar with my obsessive interest in comedy. I consider comedy to be one of the – if not the – most effective stress relievers available to mankind. For many years a line in a sitcom has haunted me. It randomly comes to mind several times a year, usually when I’m driving on long journeys, for some obscure reason. For the life of me I could never recall the sitcom in which it appeared:
What a bunch of crap!!!
I often wondered if it might have been said by the lugubrious American comedy legend Walter Matthau (1920=2000) but never managed to find a link. This being 2023, I finally decided to do a Google search and the answer appeared in moments. The line was uttered by Mr Hamilton, an exasperated American, in the Waldorf Salad episode in the second series of Fawlty Towers, to many comedy afficionados (including myself) the greatest episode in the greatest British sitcom ever broadcast. The video clip in question is here (3:50). Mr Hamilton was memorably played by the Canadian actor Bruce Boa (1930 – 2004).

IRELAND: How to stop teenage boys from being radicalised

Our thanks to Gerry (an Irishman) for this left-wing nonsense by Colman Noctor, an Irish (male) child psychologist, in the Irish Examiner. Gerry writes:
Young girls are radicalised with far-left identity politics on an industrial scale. But the thing we have to worry about apparently is the possibility that some Irish boys might smell a rat.
From near the end of the piece:
I would encourage all parents to listen to their teenage sons. Explore their political views without judgement and allow them to express their thoughts and feelings about socio-cultural issues. If their opinions differ from yours, don’t dismiss them out of hand. Instead, hear them out and gently encourage them to challenge the far right mantras they are being sold. If they’re repeating far left mantras, gently encourage them.
The last sentence was our creation, of course, but it’s surely implied.

Jenny – “My controlling ex wanted my child at all costs”

Our thanks to Jeff for this appalling feminist propaganda in the Mail. It opens with this:
In acrimonious divorces fathers are encouraged to use their children as a weapon – and now family courts are being accused of wrongly taking kids away from their mothers. Stella Wainwright investigates the growing controversy ‘Suicidal’ is how Jenny felt when her eight-year-old daughter was taken away from her last year. She was told there would be no communication between them for six weeks. ‘I don’t think there is anything more devastating than being separated from your child,’ she says. Who had ordered this separation? A religious cult? Was Jenny a neglectful mother? No, it was a UK family court that had found her guilty of ‘parental alienation’ – deliberately turning her daughter against a father from whom Jenny was estranged. [J4MB: So she WAS a neglectful mother!!!]

Tits the Season to be Jolly – Boobles!!!

Our thanks to Andy, a videographer on issues of interest to men, for this. It’s an Advent calendar with a difference. Please don’t post comments criticising our linking to this website, because we won’t publish them. If you have a particular favourite day, feel free to comment on why it’s your favourite. We can’t decide at J4MB Towers between the ladies on days 3,4,5, but definitely not day 1 – those are udders, not boobs. And we still have 20+ days to go! What a difficult choice… Merry Xmas y’all!!!

The Cheltenham Group

I’ve just posted a link to the website of The Cheltenham Group.  Barry Worrall, a key member of the group, posted this comment on a recent piece:
You may like to add “The Cheltenham Group” www.c-g.org.uk to your list of recommended websites. While it has not been recently updated, it has important info on the treatment of men, notably the late 1990’s report The Emperor’s New Clothes, after a survey by the group Families Need Fathers, the only comprehensive survey of men’s treatment in UK family law. This report has never been referred to by UK media.
Barry kindly submitted a piece (video, 39:10) for the (online) ICMI20. William Collins, the intellectual giant behind The Illustatrated Empathy Gap – to my mind (and to the minds of many other MRAs) it’s the most important / informative website in the world on men’s issues, feminism etc. – responded to the video at the time with this:
This is an extremely welcome talk as it places on record the activities of the Cheltenham Group and their ground-breaking 1996 report. I have a copy of the Cheltenham Group report, but I expect that puts me among a mere handful of viewers of these ICMI videos. Yet it is a document of major historical significance, as a future generation will discover. When it was produced (I stress I was not involved) I suspect the authors imagined that it would cause a sensation and precipitate immediate reform. We know better now. Since 1996 the situation has got worse, not better, and the DA Bill currently going through the House of Lords, and the outfall from this year’s Family Justice Review, will make it worse still. I fully agree with Barry that young men must be better informed about what marriage entails – because, as a contract, it is so preposterously one-sided that very few men would ever get married if the legal implications were made clear from the start. The only way reform will happen is if marriage becomes so unpopular, that so very few men are willing to put their head in the noose prepared for them, that it eventually spurs young women into action to press for reform. Despite the feminists’ incessant blather about male power, the reality is very clear: society will tolerate any level of discrimination against men, however many die or are driven to despair. It is only women’s discontent that society will ever react to.
William’s comments attracted this reply from @talosgb8037:
Society will tolerate it because most men will put up with it. Most men will bury their heads in the sports pages and “man up!” If they want to stop being kicked around like pieces of dried dogshit, they need to vote accordingly – in most cases, that means not at all.
