Iceland’s PM to strike over gender pay gap

Our thanks to Steve for this. He writes:
Hi Mike No mention of how men do what I call the 5D jobs: Dirty Dangerous Difficult Disposable Dependable (when women go on strike or call in sick) On Tuesday, I hope Icelandic men decide to go to the pub all day. Best, Steve
An extract from the BBC article:
Women and non-binary people have been urged to refuse paid and unpaid work on Tuesday, including household chores.
We look forward to men telling their uppity female partners who don’t (or won’t) engage in paid employment to find alternative accommodation as well as food while they’re “refusing unpaid work”. Maybe, just maybe, the cold of an Icelandic night and hunger will remind the women exactly who pays for their accommodation and food…

  1. I am afraid that the sad truth is that men will not retaliate by calling their own strike. If they did it would be devastatingly effective but it is not in the male character to do it
