Our thanks to Nigel for this. The solution to this increasing problem is simple. Women should be barred from working as prison officers in men’s prisons. Outside my local Tesco there’s a poster seeking applicants to join the prison service. One of the two prison officers in the image is a  woman, the other a black man. The message couldn’t be clearer. As with so many other workplaces in the public sector in particular, white men need not apply.

    • A recent study by psychologists at the University of Swindon confirmed the truth of that that longstanding stereotype. Their paper was titled, “A higher proportion of blondes than brunettes are slappers”. I don’t know if it’s been posted online yet…
