Ho ho. Way back in the seventies many feminists seemed to don dungarees and refuse make up. And in a way I can understand that as clearly fashion and cosmetics are all about vanity and getting all manner of stuff sold, fishing for compliments by wearing the latest “trend” or using the most “now” products. Nothing to do with qualities of character.
Fast forward to today and modern feminism takes fashion and cosmetics as some sort of human right, for women. Hence “Barbie” is the ideal modern feminist icon (and the movie is bound to do well) as “equal rights” involves all the fashions, cosmetics, pampering ,sparkling and parties you can possibly desire. Without any of the work.
