In this country one of the big drivers for allegations of domestic or child abuse is the simple fact that the allegation unlocks the public purse in the form of legal aid on family court proceedings. This was obvious when the end of automatic legal aid came in. Almost immediately the proportion of cases in which abuse was alleged went from a small proportion to over half. Various internal gov. Reports note this, not least because the expected “savings” were never achieved. But the political will to correct this doesn’t exist, as usual because no one can seem to upset women specially mothers. So the injustice continues . Of course the feminists love this because it gives figures that suggest half of father’s involved in family court around their children are abusers. Crucially there has only to be an allegation, it doesn’t have to be proven or even investigated.
