We expect the next government, if it’s a Labour government, to make the buying of sex illegal in the UK, adopting the ‘Scandinavian’ model of prosecuting only the buyers of sex, not the sellers. Of course this won’t be in the party’s manifesto, in the same way that legislation on abortion wasn’t in the party’s 1966 manifesto.
