Though hardly an expert on modern “pop” and with no interest in the preening “stars” I was interested in the way this is “spun”. In fact I noticed that to balance this heinous crime of having only nominated  “male” (it is surely just a matter of time before Harry Styals finally hops on the pronoun bus) pop stars for the british artist; the Brit Awards had taken the precaution of nominating female artists for the “international” award. This has apparently failed to deflect the Terfs.

On a more serious note it would be hardly surprising if males are more numerous and more successful in this business given the research feminists are all too fond of quoting. For in an industry without “steady” jobs with family friendly hours and cosseting HR departments, where innovation and novelty are prime considerations and artists are in generally have great ups and downs in income and success. Well then the sex that is not risk averse, is driven to succeed, prepared to put in long hours and work unsociable hours, prize innovation and invention and seek “thrills”. Well you’d expect them to be more likely to fulfil the desires of the consumers, who are in fact predominantly female!

More and more I warm to the idiocies in the entertainment and sports world as their wholesale adoption of the feminist ideology that “natural” gender barely exists and all such notions should be thrown away, forces the actual proponents of feminism to admit. a. that the biology is very important after all. b. that far from equality they actually want lots of special privileges and c. that apparently they believe that if women compete equally they will always lose out!

In other words they don’t really believe their own ideology at all! I have still yet to see anyone protest about any special rights or privileges that men have that they might lose in this whole circus. Because of course there aren’t any.

If it were not for the impact on children I’d happy egg on the 30+ gender bus as it does expose the idiocies and contradictions, and plain misandry, within the orthodox feminism that has been the guiding religion of public policy (specially family policy) for decades. As the “terfs” keep pointing out there are a huge raft of privileges that do make it seem very attractive to identify as a “woman”. One has to admire Eddie Izzard for taking the logical step of flipping between genders according to his judgement of which is most advantageous at the time, unsurprisingly he thinks his “girly mode” is the most widely useful.
