Scottish government keen to drive up the number of homeless men. New law could see (alleged) abusers booted out of their homes.

Our thanks to Steve for this. He writes:

Hi Mike

Why bother signing a lease at all (have it in her name only) when a simple case of Martial Conflict will get you booted? If men are effectively tenants from day one and subject to the whims of their partner (who has now been elevated to another version of a landlord), at least they’ll avoid paying rent once they’re booted out.

Looking at it from the actual landlord, it makes renting more work indeed.

A pretty wide scope to qualify in Scotland – “as well as physical – verbal, psychological, sexual or financial.”

Not that feminists care, but how many additional homeless men cases will this create? It makes walking the streets of your local community more and more appealing.

Best

Steve
