Our followers would expect us to welcome the end of NHS funding for circumcisions, but the reality is that those parents who want to have their sons’ genitals mutilated for cultural or religious reasons will continue to do so. This will leave even more boys being mutilated in unsanitary surroundings.

The only welcome thing that might come from the decision is that public awareness will be raised that the NHS for a long time DID use taxpayers’ money to mutilate boys’ genitals, a crime under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, being at least ABH and probably GBH. The criminals who perform the procedure should be behind bars, instead of which some earn millions of pounds over their lifetimes.
