It appears that female spies are “humiliated” by having to earn the respect of their team mates and need them to “support” them to be confident. It would be funny if this was some arts group or a bunch of book prize organisers, but these are the people supposedly keeping us safe from Islamic State and Russia and a hostile Chinese Communist Party. One can see why Vladimir Putin seems so confident. As one commentator says, it’s so ridiculous maybe it’s a double bluff, to persuade our enemies that our Secret Services are really so useless, when in fact they aren’t so silly at all…. one can hope.
