Nearly half of men who take paternity test are not the real father

Our thanks to Gerry for this piece from 2017, and this from 2018. He writes:

Hi Mike,

Two articles here about paternity issues.

It is interesting to compare how each news outlet covered the story. The Manchester News wrote a pretty factual piece. The Guardian on the other hand turned it into a story of a hurt woman. The implications for men and fathers are ignored. The girl’s real father was deceased by the time she found out, and the proxy father developed a closer relationship with ‘the victim’. Much like the old princess narratives. Hurt girl gets sympathy, man swallows the cost.

In our last general election manifesto we called for compulsory paternity testing at birth. The Crown has never prosecuted a woman for paternity fraud, despite there being two victims of the crime – the father and the child. The “right” of a woman to commit a crime and not be punished for it trump the rights of a man and a child combined.
