Nadine Dorries MP, Minister for Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Patient Safety since 2019, admits misandry in her response to a question from Philip Davies MP

Our thanks to Douglas for this:

The Department of Health and Social Care has recently completed a sexist consultation on Women’s Health Strategy.

Philip Davies MP asked the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care if he will make it his policy to launch a consultation into men’s health outcomes. He also asked the same Minister what steps the Health and Social Care Department is taking to improve health outcomes for gender-specific health matters for (a) men and (b) women.

Nadine Dorries, Minister of State (Department of Health and Social Care), answering for the Secretary of State, gave a weasel answer, pointing out irrelevantly that “The women’s health strategy for England is in development” but getting to the point after the excuses that “The Department does not have a specific men’s health strategy” and “There are no current plans to launch a consultation on men’s health outcomes.”

Personally, I shall be taking this matter up with my MP. As a member of a minority characteristic covered by the Equality Act (being male), I find it disgusting that my government is caring less about my health just because I’m not a woman.

Douglas.
