My thanks to a donor for this:
Dear Mike,
I have just cancelled my subscription to Runner’s World magazine. Feminists have just completely taken over the magazine and are using it as a platform for publishing articles espousing their hatred of men. For example, this month’s lead article “Reclaim your run [from Men]”. Bitchy snippets such as “Jokes…are for men to tell, as we are desperately insecure and need validation through laughter.” The exclusion of men from coverage – 80% of cover photos are of women, 80% of articles are about women. The magazine intentionally omits reporting men’s running achievements. It’s not just this month’s issue. It’s every month’s issue. I no longer wish this vile crap to enter my house.
Runner’s World adverts are similarly offensive. They allow Women’s Aid, a man-hating feminist group that uses domestic abuse as a front for its terrorist activities against men, to run full page adverts. However, they deny Justice for Men and Boys to run adverts for domestic abuse against men. This is blatant anti-male sexism by the editor Andy Dixon and the publisher Hearst UK.
Runners are an excellent, fun crowd and a high-value demographic. Runner’s World makes the claim that “25% of women report being regularly subjected to sexist comments or unwanted sexual advances.” I have never once in many, many hundreds of races and runs witnessed sexist comments or unwanted sexual advances. I’m sure it happens (it happened to my sister), but it is rare (not “regular”) and done by non-runners and is a matter for the police. This Runner’s World allegation reeks of the outright lie made by the Obama administration that 25% of women are raped on US college campuses, which led to the creation of the notorious US campus kangaroo courts and removal of due process for any young man accused of sexual assault by a woman on a US university campus.
Many years ago Runner’s World was a good, inspirational magazine. I am sorry to see it has been ruined by identity politics, in particular radical feminism. I am sorry to see its editor try to genderise the great sport of running. I am sorry to see the publisher, Hearst UK, and the editor Andy Dixon trying to turn male and female runners against each other. Runner’s World is poisoning running. They should shut down the magazine. Runner’s World doesn’t represent the sport or the people in it. I hope they go broke.
If advertisers are targeting men, then they should not advertise in Runner’s World.
Regards,
Andrew
