Graduate police recruits (J4MB translation: women) are ‘sadly lacking’ in life experience and aren’t prepared to work nights and weekends, chief constable Nick Adderley says

Our thanks to Nigel for this. He writes:

In my youth friends joined the police from working-class backgrounds, having no illusions about the sorts of people they’d be dealing with, because they’d been to school with them and lived in the same communities. It was for a couple of my friends a route to a respectable and relatively well-paid job.

Now we’re about to move yet another profession in public services being degree-only entry. As hinted at by the Police Chief one of the drivers for this is “diversity” and of course he dare not say it but basically he means to get more women in the force. And the results are clear from what has happened in other services. Things stop functioning at weekend, skeleton services “out of hours” as the service has to honour family-friendly hours and maternity leave etc. and a devolution of the hard stuff to the least qualified (in this case the PCSOs I expect).

Whenever you see paper qualifications become the vital criteria it’s usually because of the assumption that women are “disadvantaged” by their employment histories from gaining experience and so will be advantaged by basing criteria on a piece of paper (from an education system that openly favours females). The fact this reduces the effectiveness of public services in precisely the way described here seems to count for nothing. And of course it’s just one more nail in social mobility for those men and women with experience and drive but not the social capital to write good essays.

ICMI20 was very ambitious in scale – 126 speakers and interviewees – and many people haven’t caught all of the videos. To help remedy that, we’re publishing one video per day from early April until mid-August, so people have a reasonable chance of catching all, or most, of the material. Think of the videos as a daily Red Pill.

The videos will be published in the order in which they were originally published on our YouTube conference playlist. Paul Elam’s YouTube channel has 103,000+ subscribers – a few more than our channel – and also features the playlist.

Craig McLachlan shares shocking video of the moment he considered jumping to his death and recalls how he was once treated like a ‘dirty paedophile’ in a supermarket – as he storms out of explosive interview after sexual harassment case

Our thanks to Nigel for this. He writes:

While I wouldn’t normally give much attention to stories from showbiz, by its nature awash with strangely self-absorbed people hungry for attention, I was struck by this report from Australia. It captures the sense of betrayal of the actor by women who have posed as friendly, in this case one for years, while apparently harbouring resentments or worse plotting to gain some leverage. As so often it highlights the long gaps between alleged offences and actual reporting, again if there was a problem why not address it at the time or very soon after? And of course it highlights the “mud sticks” attitude of the wider society, the accusation is treated as proof by swathes of the public.

Mr. McLachlan reveals the mental toll taken by being identified as a pariah and abandoned by almost everyone. Discusses his suicidal thoughts and shows the squalid place that became a sort of refuge. The high suicide rate for men must reflect realities, like these, facing official and social “judgement” on all sorts of issues. The absolute absence of any empathy let alone sympathy from all but a loyal few (how appalling to imagine men without even such loyal friends).

And it shows so clearly the lie of “feminists” that somehow society condones men who behave badly. When even the accusation can call in such shunning and abrogation of all due process onto a popular figure, how much heavier the effects on an ordinary “Joe”? I was struck yet again by the praise for the “bravery”of the accusers from the Magistrate even though the judgement exonerated the actor! Would anyone think a man, accusing others of inappropriate touching years ago, having never addressed the issue directly and even pretended to be friendly, “brave”? Of course not.
