Ben Bradley MP introduces the International Men’s Day debate in the House of Commons

Our thanks to Ed for this (video, 57:55). Ben Bradley MP (C, Mansfield) introduced the debate for the first time and called for a focus on the educational under-achievement of white working-class boys, and for a Minister for Men. Philip Davies also made a welcome contribution, as always.

While it was good that the debate was held in the main chamber of the House of Commons – the debate on International Women’s Day is always held there, naturally – the reduction in the debate length to one hour (from three hours in previous debates) is scandalous, yet utterly unsurprising.

Isabel Hardman, The Spectator: A minister for men would help solve one problem

I’ve just been notified of a second article published online yesterday by The Spectator which would be enough in itself for me to cancel my subscription, as I’ve just done after reading an article by Sarah Ditum, a feminist “journalist”. It’s by Isabel Hardman and titled A minister for men would help solve one problem. The article is under a photo of a women’s march, prominent in which is a sign reading “Girl Power”. An extract:

Both of us [J4MB: She refers to the odious Diane Abbott MP] believe that women have historically been oppressed by a patriarchal society and that this oppression has in no way ended today.

I, in turn, believe that both Isabel Hardman and Diane Abbott MP are blithering idiots. We have solid evidence that my belief is based on reality, unlike the feminist patriarchy theory.

Why I’ve cancelled my subscription to The Spectator

I’ve been a subscriber to The Spectator for many years. The weekly magazine has contributors who challenge feminism more than any other popular magazine I know – Douglas Murray, Rod Liddle, James Delingpole and Lionel Shriver come to mind. Fraser Nelson, 47, the Scottish editor since 2009, has done a great job but he continues to give column inches to feminist “journalists” such as Julie Bindel, Julie Burchill, and Sarah Ditum.

We’ve done a number of blog pieces on Sarah Ditum since 2013, and they’re all here. I have just cancelled my subscription to The Spectator after reading a piece written by her and published online today. The piece is titled No, Ben Bradley: we don’t need a minister for men. The title is a reference to his introduction to the debate he hosted in the main chamber of the House of Commons two days ago, International Men’s Day.

I may read copies in my local public library but as with the BBC, I refuse to help fund organizations which spout feminist propaganda. I will never again buy anything made by Procter and Gamble, which owns Gillette, after their anti-male advertisements. I’m far from alone. It’s reported that the backlash against Gillette cost the company eight billion dollars. Good.

I’m also a subscriber to The Times and yesterday I did a keyword search using “International Men’s Day”. The most recent article was written by a feminist “journalist” published in 2016 and – like Sarah Ditum’s new article – it was published the day after IMD. The only leading British print publication to mention IMD this year was, to the best of my knowledge, the Telegraph. I posted comments linking to the 120-speaker conference, and they haven’t been removed. Hope springs eternal.

The future’s bright. The future’s MRA International Ltd.

Before 2009, when I retired to become a full-time MRA and anti-feminist campaigner, I was the owner of a couple of successful companies engaged in business consulting for major organizations, including the Conservative party (2006-8). In the wake of the highly successful 120-speaker online conference of which I was one of the key organizers, along with Elizabeth Hobson, Paul Elam, Robert Brockway and Tom Golden – with HUGE support from Tom Caulfield, the Technical Director of J4MB – I am pleased to announce that I’ve just registered a new limited company, MRA International Ltd. Tony, 70, the estimable J4MB party treasurer since the party’s launch in 2013, will be the company secretary. I look forward to him taking dictation lessons, so I can be a dictator.

Starting in the New Year, I’ll be devoting more time and energy and resources to organizing and hosting online and offline events and gatherings and meetings, through the new company. I’m already the sole official organizer of ICMIs in Europe and North America, so those geographical areas will be my primary focus… and later, the world!

I am the sole shareholder and company director – with the title of Chief Executive, obvs. This is an exciting new venture for me, wish me luck!

Mike Buchanan interviewed by American “comedian” Desiree Burch, BBC2, “The Mash Report”

Today’s video (3:15) was published in 2018. It’s on the comedy channel of my website Laughing at Feminists. Enjoy.

Zurich Insurance reports a 33 per cent increase in the number of women hired into senior management positions after offering jobs on a part-time, flexible working or job share basis.

Our thanks to Steve for this. Part-time and job-sharing and flexible-working senior managers. How could that possibly impact on a company’s efficiency? Two women doing one man’s job has of course been the norm in the education system for decades. Before the feminisation of the teaching profession, single men educated children to a much higher standard than two women (a teacher and an assistant) can manage today, and at less cost. It’s a matter I covered in my ICMI speech, which is getting good feedback on Paul Elam’s dedicated ICMI playlist (his website has 103,000+ subscribers, a few more than J4MB).

Elizabeth’s speech will be published at 11pm tonight, Janice Fiamengo’s speech at midnight, then the conference is over for another year. I’m looking forward to the longest sleep I’ve had in weeks, as are Elizabeth Hobson and Tom Caulfield, I’m sure.

How Dolly Parton is ‘playing an important role in Covid battle’

An inspiring piece on the BBC website. I’m a lifelong lover of country music and have been an admirer of Dolly Parton for decades, but I’m guessing wildly that her modest donation (for such a wealthy woman) to Covid research will NOT play an important role in the “Covid battle”.

40+ years ago a BBC radio station devoted to country music mentioned an American award for the best country music song titles in the preceding year. The winner that year was, “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy”, followed by “Wear trousers when you’re working on your vegetable patch, Grandma, because the potatoes have eyes!”

Mirror videos on the ICMI20 playlist

A number of videos have been unexpectedly delayed, which has created a number of empty speaker “slots” over the next few hours, probably until midnight GMT. Rather than post nothing, we’ve decided to post some previously-published videos – “mirror” videos – which we think you’ll enjoy. They will be posted hourly on the J4MB ICMI20 playlist, we’re trying to get them loaded onto the Paul Elam ICMI20 playlist too. There will be videos from Paul Elam, Professor Janice Fiamengo, Tom Golden, Bettina Arndt, Glass Blind Spot, Elizabeth Hobson and other leading lights of the global MRM. Enjoy!

Tom Caulfield: “International Conference on Men’s Issues (2020) – promotional video #15”

The conference is proving successful beyond our wildest expectations, the videos (there are 120) are being published hourly on both the J4MB YouTube channel and that of Paul Elam (103,000+ subscribers). The last two videos are by Elizabeth Hobson and Professor Janice Fiamengo, and the conference will end at 01:00 on Thursday, 19 November, International Men’s Day. I’m looking forward to my first good night’s sleep for some time, as is Elizabeth, and Tom Caulfield, J4MB’s Technical Dierector.

Much of the workload of ICMIs since 2016 (London) has fallen on Tom’s shoulders. As a mark of appreciation, we’re re-publishing one of his ICMI20 promotional videos. For maximum enjoyment, (a) wear headphones, and (b) pause the video for as long as you need to read and enjoy the content. Tom’s a comic genius, on the quiet. Enjoy. (1:15).
