Speakers’ Corner, London – where Men’s Rights Activists (MRAs) and other anti-feminists meet. Join us there, 19 January.

Today was an interesting day at and near Speakers’ Corner. It was cold, but the sun was shining. Richard, Lynton and Nostradormouse were on good form as usual. I was largely occupied with a film crew from a production company pitching a pilot to some major broadcasters for a documentary on the MRM. They took plenty of footage of Elizabeth and Natty speaking publicly, but because they didn’t have a licence to film at Speakers’ Corner itself, we had to set up nearby, which meant Elizabeth and Natty attract have the same crowds as before. No matter, the film crew were happy with their footage, and afterwards we went to a room above a local public house, where more filming took place, with us engaging with two presenters.

We look forward to Elizabeth and Natty speaking again at Speakers’ Corner. They’ll always be very welcome. A few of the photographs of them, which I took today:

Along with other Men’s Rights Activists (MRAs) and anti-feminists I visit Speakers’ Corner on alternate Sundays, from approximately 10:30 onwards, staying for at least three hours, sometimes more.

We’ve recently been adopting a new approach on our anti-MGM campaigning, seeking to persuade parents not to circumcise their sons. One of the new placard designs is here.

I urge you to join us at Speakers’ Corner, and support the MRAs and other anti-feminists who campaign there, speak publicly etc. We always have a great time, spreading the word on men’s issues, feminism, Male Genital Mutilation (MGM)…

We campaign for men and women to have equal rights, because women and girls have rights denied to men and boys in many areas. 20 such areas were explored in  our 2015 general election manifesto. One of our “equal rights” placard designs is here.

We campaign against MGM, a crime under the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861, being at least ABH, and almost certainly GBH. The party’s playlist of 100+ video and audio pieces relating to MGM is here. It includes footage taken at Speakers’ Corner.

If you’d like to know if we’re planning to attend Speakers’ Corner on a particular Sunday, please contact us (info@j4mb.org.uk).

Members of The London Group are invariably present at Speakers’ Corner on the same days, some of them speaking on stepladders about men’s issues, feminism etc.

My thanks to Douglas for letting us know that he has a gmail email address, and auto-notifications of our new blog pieces have been going into his Spam folder. Three-digit suicide prevention hotline – 988 – given green light in US

Our thanks to Steve for this. He writes:

A step forward, but I can’t stop thinking the effort is treating only the symptoms and not the causes.

Helpful Parental Alienation Case – His Honor Judge Bedford – Suspended Change of Residency

Our thanks to David for this:

The judgement in this case of parental alienation of 11 and 10 year old children is important. It was delivered at the start of this year, but only published recently. It is rare that we get to know what happened next… unless it’s bad news i.e. it’s come back for an appeal of something. In this case HHJ Bedford was sitting as a Judge of the High Court and the judgement was delivered prior to a final hearing in September. He published a postscript to the January judgement stating:
“I have delayed the publication of this judgment pending a final hearing which took place on 27 September 2019. The children have, since 30 January 2019 enjoyed equal time with their Father, and their Mother, as per my order.  I am satisfied the suspended residence order which I made has enabled the children to rebuild their relationships with their Father and paternal families and has provided the encouragement for the Mother to work with my Order. My final Order endorsed the continuation of the children spending their time equally in the care of their Mother and their Father and I have extended the suspended residence order for a further 6 months to prioritise the welfare of these two children and maximise their opportunities of growing up with a healthy relationship with both parents.”
