I’ve just published this (video, 12:29), a piece (my contribution, at least) recorded in the London studio of TRT World two days ago, for their “The Newsmakers” programme. TRT is a Turkish TV station which broadcasts internationally. I’ve previously been on the station twice, talking about the gender pay gap.
James Millar is the feminist freelance journalist who wrote a woeful piece about the Gillette ads in the New Statesman, here. On his Twitter feed @PoliticalYeti, he wrote about our discussion:
I started of (sic) ‘debating’ this Men’s Rights Activist but I ended up just laughing at him. The big silly.
Condescending twat. He laughed after I’d raised the issues of women who are violent towards their partners, paternity fraud, and abortion – clearly subjects of mirth in his world. He’s a co-author of the book Dads Don’t Babysit: Towards Equal Parenting. In a promotional tweet last September, now the ‘pinned’ tweet at the top of the page, he ended his short message with this:
We need to talk about #masculinity #fatherhood and how men are the final part of the feminist puzzle
