Why all feminists should back a second Brexit referendum

Ex-Blue Peter star, Konnie Huq leads the call in this Guardian article.

She argues that it would endanger workers rights, particularly those of women. For context:

The minimum wage was introduced by the UK Parliament, not the EU.

Maternity pay is 39 weeks in the UK (EU law only mandates 14).

Holiday entitlement is actually 5.6 weeks in the UK.

The Equal Pay Act was introduced in 1970 – 3 years BEFORE we joined the EEC.

…I think it’s a feminist issue just because feminists love dividing societies in two and causing as much instability as possible!

Bettina Arndt: The Chihuahua Effect

Just in from Bettina:

Hi Everyone,

Promoting my new book #MenToo has provided a wonderful example of the chihuahua effect. In case you haven’t heard of this before, that’s a term coined by Eric Weinstein, the brilliant American mathematician, economist, writer and managing director of Thiel Capital, which he used describe a small group producing most of the noise. Like our feminists.

No question we’re talking here about a tiny group. Only 19 per cent of Australians call themselves “feminist”, according to the Macquarie University survey that was at the heart of the recent SBS documentary, Is Australia Sexist – I recently made a video about that appalling programme.

Boy, is this small group busy yapping away, putting their own spin on what I am doing. Last week I was interviewed about #MenToo, on Channel 7’s Sunrise programme – see that interview on my video from last week. The two female hosts were surprisingly positive about my central message about mothers being concerned about their sons in this male-bashing society. It triggered a huge response from viewers, with nearly 5,000 likes on their Facebook page, compared to only 200 critical responses. Most of the 1.8 thousand comments posted were positive and included many from women supporting my argument that feminism is no longer promoting equality but rather is advantaging women at the expense of men.

There’s been no mention of this overwhelming public support in the stream of critical articles being published commenting on the interview. Instead journalists like Stephanie Bedo on news.com.au attacked the Sunrise hosts for their “one-sided” interview in which my “controversial views were left unchallenged.” Many other commentators have followed suit invariably saying Sunrise had “copped criticism” for the interview. The fake news took over as other media sites promoted this minority view as if it was the main story.

My Sunrise experience is all about the chihuahua effect. A small, noisy band of feminists attack a mainstream television programme for an interview overwhelmingly endorsed by the bulk of the programme’s audience. But it is their yapping about the shameful, one-sided television interview which attracts all the subsequent media attention.

Roll on the day when the Great Dane, the sensible majority concerned about what’s happening to men in our society, puts a stop to the antics of this irritating creature and takes it on.

New video about women at their worst.

So this week’s video is an interview I did this week with Andrew Bolt on Sky News. I talked about #MeToo revealing women at their very worst – mean, vindictive and very dangerous. But also we discuss other issues – such as why marriage is now a dud deal for men, given women’s absurdly high expectations of their relationships, the high chance they will end up dissatisfied with their marriages and the armoury of weapons being offered to divorcing women to destroy their ex-partners. The way some women are behaving makes me ashamed to be female. And of course it is the feminist movement which is pushing them on.

The interview provided a good taste of just a few of the issues I talk about in #MenToo.

Here’s the link – please don’t forget to like the video and help me circulate it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeMj1g6liSg

Thank you!

A very big thank you to all the people who are supporting my videos through Patreon or Paypal. You have been so generous and it is incredibly encouraging to receive this steady stream of support. And to all of my volunteers who worked with me to edit the book and the many who are now working with me on my various activities.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and I am looking forward to a very lively 2019 as I continue my fake rape crisis tour of our campuses plus tackle a number of other campaigns supporting men’s rights. I hope more of you will come on board to help me.  I am very nervous about the prospect of a change in government next year which would mean Australian men are going to be in even worse trouble.

All the best, Tina

Tina Cahill sentenced to eight years for killing ‘controlling’ fiancé. She’ll be out of prison long before then.

Tina Cahill and fiancé David Walsh

Irish Independent caption: Tina Cahill and fiance David Walsh

Our thanks to Sean for this piece in the Irish Independent, concerning the cold-blooded murder of an Irishman in Sydney, Australia, and the outrageously short prison sentence handed to his drunk killer, his 27-year-old fiancee. Emphases ours:

An Irish woman who was in a volatile relationship involving aggression on both sides has been jailed for at least five years for stabbing her new fiance to death in Sydney.

Cathrina “Tina” Cahill (27) pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of David Walsh (29) who she stabbed once in the neck in the early hours of February 18, 2017, at the Padstow home they shared with two other Irish nationals.

She was originally charged with murder, but her manslaughter plea was based on substantial impairment due to an abnormality of the mind.

“I am satisfied the psychiatric evidence supports the existence of significant depression on the part of the offender at the time of the killing which arose from the unusual and abusive relationship with Mr Walsh,” Justice Peter Johnson said on Wednesday in the NSW Supreme Court.

He sentenced her to eight years in jail, with a non-parole period of five years. [J4MB correction: So he sentenced her to FIVE years. She’ll be 32 when she leaves jail in Ireland, assuming she even goes to an Irish jail.]

Her earliest release date will be in February 2022 when she is expected to be deported to Ireland.

The fatal attack occurred when an intoxicated Mr Walsh launched an unprovoked attack on Mathew Hyde, who had been invited into the home by Cahill and the two other female housemates after they met him at the pub.

Cahill, who also had been drinking, tried to stop the attack, before she took out a “large, very sharp” knife from the cutlery drawer and stabbed him.

Another housemate had repeatedly told her to put the knife back, but Cahill said: “No, he needs to be taught a lesson, it’s not fair, look at poor Mathew”.

At the time, she was on a good behaviour bond and the subject of an apprehended violence order issued to protect Mr Walsh, after she was convicted of recklessly wounding him with a glass candle holder in 2015.

Cahill gave evidence about his repeated violence, including punching strangers and biting her all over her body, his accusations of her sleeping with other men and his deleting texts from her phone.

The judge accepted her account of Mr Walsh’s controlling and demeaning conduct, observing their marriage was “doomed to fail”. [J4MB: Well, David Walsh isn’t around to give HIS account of HER conduct, is he?]

The J4MB interview of Philip Davies MP

Mike Buchanan, Philip Davies MP (C, Shipley), Elizabeth Hobson

We recently contacted Philip Davies MP, asking for an interview, and were pleased when he agreed. He didn’t ask for prior sight of the questions, and the video is here (21:41). He was very friendly throughout our meeting. My thanks to Philip for his time, to Elizabeth Hobson for sharing the interviewing task, and to Ewan Jones for his filming and editing.

From the video description:

We salute Philip Davies MP, in our view the most courageous MP in parliament, by a country mile. Almost the only parliamentarian in the world ever prepared to stand up for the human rights of men and boys, half the population.

A video of Jess Phillips MP (Labour, Birmingham Yardley), during a meeting of the Backbench Business Committee, mocking and seeking to deny Philip the opportunity to host the first parliamentary debate commemorating International Men’s day, in which suicide (the leading cause of death of British men under 45, in all age groups) was to be the principal issue debated – here.

Our video of Philip’s presentation at the second International Conference on Men’s Issues, London, 2016 – “The Justice Gender Gap” – here.

His comments on Male Genital Mutilation, and its illegality in the UK, during the debate he led in the House of Commons commemorating International Men’s Day, 2018, with a link to a video of those comments – here.

Bedford School for Boys – not interested in educating its pupils about the anti-male environment which will ruin many of its pupils’ lives

Bedford School for Boys is a highly-regarded independent school for boys, in my adopted home town for the past 20+ years. Many of its pupils travel from and to London, London St Pancras station being just a 45-minute train ride away from the throbbing metropolis. A little over two weeks ago, I hand-delivered a letter addressed to James Hodgson, Head Master.

Yesterday, not having received a response to my letter, I left a message on Mr Hodgson’s PA’s answerphone. Her response, this morning:

Dear Mr Buchanan,

The Head Master apologises for his lack of response. He thanks you for your letter of 25th November and says that the school will get in touch should they require such a talk in the future. [J4MB: I think we can all agree that hell will freeze over, before that day arrives.]

With all best wishes,

<name redacted>

The bottom line? This highly-regarded independent school for boys is happy to launch its pupils into the world, utterly clueless about the increasingly anti-male environment in which they will live their lives. This is NOT “preparation for life”.

The police’s response to a female driver knocking a 12-tear-old boy off his bicycle

Our thanks to Len J for this:

Hi Mike,

A little story about a personal experience.

Last week my son was knocked off his bike by a car on the school run. Thankfully he just received a bruised hand. The driver, a female, had signalled him to cross then proceeded to turn right at a junction and hit the back of his bike. She did not stop to see if he was ok but stopped about 50m further down the road to check the damage to her car. She then drove off. This was a hit and run on a child of 12 years old. His mum reported the incident to the police. The police sent her a form to fill in under the self-reporting scheme , no doubt to save money or due to a shortage of officers. Now had this been a call about a DV incident, how would the police have reacted? Would they have dared to ask the victim to fill in a form under the self-reporting scheme or would a van load of police officers have been sent to the incident?

The politicising of DV has surely had an impact on police morale and resources to the point when the police do not prioritise a hit and run. My son knows who the driver is and where she lives yet no police van has turned up outside her door to take her away for questioning. Ridiculous.
