We’ve just learned that the International Men’s Day debate this year will be restricted to just 30 minutes, on Friday, 23 November, in the chamber of the House of Commons. It’s taking place despite the government having denied the Business Backbench Committee any time for the debate. Jess Bloody-Phillips is a member of the committee, you may recall her attempt to deny Philip Davies his inaugural IMD debate in 2015 – here (video, 10:34).
The debate will be led by Jeremy Lefroy (C, Stafford), also present will be Penny Mordaunt, Minister for Wimmin and Equalities.
