The Battle of Ideas is coming to The Barbican this month, on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of October. The event takes over the entire facility and fills it with talks and debates on a wide range of subjects. I have been twice and have found the quality of arguement consistently high.
Of particular interest may be the debate on religious freedom that mentions MGM in the description, as well as panels involving Sophie Walker, Julie Burchill, Julie Bindel, Ella Whelan, Joanna Williams and Helen Pluckrose (of the hoax grievance studies papers). I’m most looking forward to seeing Lionel Shriver in conversation, author of the uncompromising piece we shared recently from The Times, Men should be angrier about #MeToo.
Mike and I will both be there, attending events, and there are opportunities to socialise in the Garden Room after each day. Let us know if you’re coming (you can reach me at elizabeth@j4mb.org.uk).
If everyone who read this gave us just £1.00 – or even better, £1.00 or more, monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.
