  1. The main mover behind this state of affairs (and the general war on men) was, | suppose, the belief that large numbers of women are being raped and assaulted in the land (or rape culture – which, with about 3000 confirmed rapes in one year, in a population of about 30m men, does not exist. A false accusation culture, with false accusers supported by leading feminists, does, on the other hand, most certainly exist.) I don’t know who I despise more; the weak and cowardly politicians, who have allowed feminists to play them like flutes, and become part of their war on men, with disastrous effects for many innocents, or the trustees (the police, especially), who, in search of another pip on their shoulders, carry out the progroms, such as hammering on a man’s door at 6 o’clock in the morning simply on the say so of a woman.

      • I did see a figure of about 3k (if I remember correctly – it was some time ago) but I can’t remember for which year this was. Maybe my memory is faulty.

      • Last year (2016/17)there were just under 3000 convictions for sexual offences, Rape being a specific offence within that total so Mike may well be right about a third being for the specific offense “Rape”, in England and Wales. There is a roughly 50% conviction rate of the 6000 cases that were prosecuted. .There were over 40,000 reports of sexual offenses to the police. The difference appears surprising at first but many of these reports result in prosecutions for assault, harassment etc. when the sexual part is not proven. As has been reported a high proportion are “no crimed” and even higher recorded as “incidents” following initial investigation.(reading the Blog of a serving officer gives a good picture of why this is).
Feminists invariably include all sexual offences as “Rape” and focus on the numbers reported (over the years the reporting has increased due to campaigns incuding “Yew tree” and Muslim abuse rings and recently the ” abuse in football”). Much of this has thus been about the past rather than current. When it comes to convictions of course feminists use percentages as the raw numbers would not reflect their claims of “epidemic”.
Of course it is only the actual offence Rape that is legally gendered and sexual offenses includes offenses against males, a fact also left out by feminists.

So to sum up there are (and have been for a decade) about 3000 proven Sexual Offences in England and Wales each year. The conviction rate has remained at just over 50% for the same period. “Reports” have varied greatly over the same period. However given the sharp increase in population over the period in fact there has been a decrease in the prevalence of what are rare crimes masked by the current “glut” of “historical” cases and convictions.
So in order for the police to keep up the prosecution and convictions they have indeed had to “fiddle” cases. The “historic” cases are easy in that frequently these are further prosecutions of already convicted men so their “guilt” is already established (all the actual court cases I’m aware of coming from the abuse in Football are of previously convicted men). As we have discovered in “consent” cases the fiddling is to ignore or conceal evidence.

“…..So back to 2012 and poor Mr Crabtree who had no idea initially with whom he was entangled….”

We may remember the 1994 Megan’s Law
episode in America which required the authorities to make information publically available about convicted men.

It should really come as no surprise that, in the intrest of equality if nothing else, the same should apply to women too.
