Pathetic retweets from Cathy Newman, Channel 4 News

As predicted, Cathy Newman and her colleagues at Channel 4 News are trying to spin criticisms of her woefully unsuccessful attempt at tarnishing Jordan Peterson’s reputation, into a sob story about perfectly valid criticisms being evidence of misogyny. Well, boo hoo. Her cynical and unprofessional interviewing techniques deserved strong language in response, and got it, in spades. Our thanks to Stu for pointing out she’s retweeted a colleague’s comments this afternoon:

1/2 Our onscreen journalists expect to be held to account for their journalism but the level of vicious misogynistic abuse, nastiness, and threat to is an unacceptable response to a robust and engaging debate with .

Such is the scale of threat we are having to get security specialists in to carry out an analysis. I will not hesitate to get the police involved if necessary. What a terrible indictment of the times we live in. [J4MB: Cathy Newman is a terrible indictment of the times we live in. She should be fired.]

  1. Pointing out that a woman has performed badly now a hate crime? It was only to be expected when confirming that a woman’s bum does look big in ‘this’ was classed as domestic abuse. Basically, the position of women is now ‘say nice things about me or I’ll get someone to beat you up’.

    They’re children in big bodies.

  2. Send Cathy Newman on a course in television journalism (with a special focus on listening to what the interviewee is saying), she obviously hasn’t got the hang of it yet.

  3. Lets please remember that last time Cathy Newman was humiliated in an interview, we had feminist labour MP Anna Turley sending tweets endorsing the idea of Newman punching her interviewee in the face.

To add to the farce, said MP is the lead figure behind proposed Social Media Malicious Communications Bill: https://hequal.wordpress.com/2016/11/19/feminist-labour-mp-whose-tweet-advocated-punching-milo-yiannopoulos-is-lead-figure-behind-propsed-social-media-malicious-communications-bill/

As far as I know, Turley still hasn’t apologised for the tweet not has anyone from Channel 4 nor the MSM condemned it nor written about it.

  4. I would dearly love to compare the Twitter response to Cathy Newman’s car crash of an interview with what Toby Young, Rod Liddle etc etc go through. I strongly suspect we would find much of the same thing, with the possible exception that RL, TY etc just grin and bear it, as opposed to damsaling in public about how mean social media is. FYI, if you don’t like it, log off.

For example, as well as this disqus account I have both a Facebook account and a Twitter profile. That later I use strictly for work and the former I logged off of back in July to avoid a bun fight about why Dr Who being turned into a woman was (a) ridiculous and (b) a wasted opportunity to end the show [since the current Dr is the 12th and thus the last of the bodies he is supposed to get] and start setting up a new main character (Who I would have been quite happy to see as female) for after the Dr’s exit.

As a result my life has not changed in the slightest – it isn’t the first time I’ve taken a long FB break and I doubt it will be the last. Cathy could learn a few things.
