Barbara Kay: Canada’s new sexual assault law is a ‘catastrophic attack’ on the rights of the accused

Our thanks to Mike P for this. Barbara Kay, a Canadian columnist, was a speaker at the first ICMI, held in Detroit in 2014. A year of two ago she made supportive comments about MGM which make it very doubtful she’ll speak at another ICMI.

    • What is constantly glossed over is the fact that the defendant is not facing the complainant in some equal “contest” but faces the full might of the Crown. It is this total imbalance in power which requires the “beyond reasonable doubt” test. In a gynocentric society it is all too easy to garner support for fragile women as if it is they who prosecute the case. Whereas it is the might of the Crown (in both ours and Canada) that acts for the complainant.
