Our thanks to a number of followers for this. An extract:
Mark Brooks, chair of the domestic abuse charity Mankind Initiative, added that if the genders were reversed, many would expect a man who committed this type of crime “to go to prison, and rightly so”.
Woodward, 24, has now applied for permission to take her case to the court of appeal to have her suspended sentence revoked. A judge will now review her application before deciding whether she can go ahead with the appeal.
I wonder if she is aware they can increase her sentence? I suspect a court of middle aged women would.

My word!
What overweening pride, arrogance and entitlement.
In her position I would lie low and be grateful to have got off so lightly, and keeping my mouth shut lest the sentence be reviewed and actually increased.
But then I am not a young girl surrounded by pretty flowers…

If they revoke her ‘sentence’ and the majority of men still behave like gentlemen and don’t wake up from their illusion of gender equality and democracy, then they are complete idiots and deserve what they are getting.

This woman is a disgrace.

This shows that she is not so bright after all and how entitled and priviliged she is that instead of being relieved by her lenient treatment she thinks she should appeal. Her sentence can be increased as well as decreased and in her case I think the former is much more likely than the later. The publicity about her cannot be anything but harmful to her longer term prospects and the best she could do was to keep a low profile. The best hope for justice is she does appeal, she gets a real sentence and the publicity prevents a career in medicine for which she clearly does not have the right character.

Having been effectively confirmed in what appears to be her view that the courts exist to do her bidding, I confidently predict a number of actions for sexual discrimination should any potential employer decide that she’s too high risk to take on.
Expect to hear of and from this young woman again and again and again, perhaps from a front bench in the House of Commons.

She is a scheming little bitch, isn’t she. What she’s doing is both delaying her resumption of studies, following which she will be summoned before the college authorities for disciplinary action that could result in her dismissal, and hoping to reduce that possibility by obtaining a reduction in her sentence.

Ah, then there is a partial logic behind what otherwise seems like an act of mind-blowing arrogance and stupidity; albeit only if you have been given everything you ever asked for your entire life, with the modest effort of fluttering your eyelashes in the hard cases. Still, when she beat the rap the first time, it must just have cemented her central delusion that consequences are for the little people. Don’t the Americans call these types “Euro-trash”? What a good word.

God, the entitlement is strong in this one; mind you, this could be an expression of her class arrogance as well.
“The case caused outrage about inequity in the justice system, with critics suggesting the same logic would not have applied had the defendant been a minority or from a poor background.”
Hmm, no judges let women at the other end of the spectrum off all the time after a few crocodile tears, as this blog demonstrates all the time (see story below about testicle ripping). Critics suggested Woodward got off because she is hot, female and can act remorseful quite well – one hopes that idiot Pringle is watching this now and realising that he was played as throughly as a violin at a classical music concert.
Will she get off? Mmm, 60-40 odds the conviction is upheld to spare Pringle’s blushes. They cleared him three times after all, so if he was wrong (i.e. they reverse his sentence) they look like twits too. OTOH, never underestimate the pussy pass for sweet looking old ladies or cute 20somethings.
