Eton College has invited Special Snowflake to give talks to pupils

Our thanks to Jeff for this piece in The Guardian, published a week ago. It was written by a female journalist, what are the chances? Extracts:

Simon Henderson, who took over the elite public school in 2015, told the Guardian that efforts to prepare its pupils for the modern world now included LGBT-awareness education and talks by the founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, Laura Bates. [J4MB emphasis]

“I’m very keen that we are very aware that as an all-boys school there’s a responsibility for young men to be gender-intelligent,” he said…

Arguably, Eton – with its tailcoats, boarding houses and idiosyncratic traditions – may find it harder than others to adapt. In addition to the 1,300-strong all-male student body, just 20 of the 180 teaching staff are women and there are no plans to admit girls.

To that end, Henderson is trying to build more meaningful links with girls’ schools. He wants to increase the number of female teachers, as well as ethnic diversity, and he emphasises the broad diversity of visiting speakers, among them an Old Etonian whose subject was coming out as gay while a pupil at the college.

  1. Oh dear. Another one of our formerly great British public schools has been selected for annihilation by the malignancy of postmodernism. Simon Henderson’s sole mission seems to have been the destruction of the spirit of this formerly great institution; the fact that L.Bates is due to address the school suggests Henderson’s sabotage has largely been completed.
Scholarly learning and academic knowledge is under greater threat today than at any other time in the last thousand years. Every elite university and every elite school has been overtaken by the forces of postmodernism. There is today almost no standard of scholasticism to which anyone may aspire because so much scholastic tradition has already been destroyed.
Consider this… Five hundred years ago, scholasticism survived the Dissolution of the Monasteries. The physical institutions were abandoned, but scholasticism survived. Sadly, the reverse is true today: schools and universities as physical institutions may survive, but any spirit of scholasticism cannot possibly survive such unconstrained implementation of feminism. For, feminism makes a great idol of ignorance and stupidity, which – of course – is wholly antithetical to scholasticism.
We are, as a nation, quite literally standing on the edge of a chasm that goes all the way down to Hell. We are about to step off and fall into the great abyss. Goodbye civilisation.

  2. I think you should write to him Mike, and offer to increase his boy’s ‘gender intelligence’ still further by offering a talk of your own on building a “more meaningful link” with their own ‘gender’.

    • If I thought there was the remotest chance he’d respond positively, I would. But by inviting Special Snowflake to talk – winner of two Lying Feminist of the Month awards, Whiny Feminist of the Month – he’s demonstrated he’s utterly ignorant of gender politics. It makes my blood boil TBH, deliberately exposing male minors boys and young men in his charge to feminist propaganda. He says he wants more female teachers – rather than fewer male teachers, tellingly – but why? You can be sure the school will in general recruit women who are less capable than the best men available i.e. it’s a deeply anti-meritocratic move, and standards will inevitably fall. One of the appeals of public schools is the high proportion of teachers who are men.

  3. Has anybody heard of a head of a girl’s college wanting more male teachers? Why is it that men and boys have to be the first to surrender, the first to abase themselves?
