Third International Men’s Day debate to go ahead – Tuesday, 14 November

And now for some good news. Jeremy Lefroy MP (C, Stafford) and Philip Davies MP (C, Shipley) appeared before the BackBench Business Committee three days ago, to make a bid to host the third consecutive International Men’s Day debate on men’s issues. I watched it live online, and was pleased to note Jess Phillips MP for once managed to put a sock in it. We’ll be posting the video footage of the discussion onto our YouTube channel shortly.

The bid was successful, but as IMD falls on a Sunday this year (19 November) the debate couldn’t be held that day. It will be held in Westminster Hall on Tuesday 14 November, 09:30 – 11:00. The public can attend, but there are few seats available. I plan to be there, hopefully some supporters will join me. If you wish to attend, please email me (mike@j4mb.org.uk).

  1. Good news indeed. Perhaps male MPs likely to be in trouble for things they didn’t do or mean might take a bit more interest in their brothers and be less eager to white knight.

  2. Jess Phillips’ obnoxious and juvenile behavior two years ago, when a call for a debate on men’s issues was made in a house of commons committee, is there for all to see on the internet, thanks to Mike and others.
Everyone including her should be reminded of it at every opportunity. She might learn to keep her stupid trap shut in future.
