I’m pleased these women and others like them are out of the marketplace. This will free up jobs for those who will prioritise work, regardless of gender, and any manager who genuinely values the part time/”flexible i.e. rigid in what they will do” worker above the full timer working on the premises is a liar.
The trouble is that these women are not high fliers. High fliers are the 1/7, the sort of women who are child free or who have always outsourced their children – they used to be called ladies.
The salaries they were on were average and what they haven’t explicitly said (one did say she went back for two days a week) is that the hours they were now prepared to work were probably a burden for their employers. Finding someone to pick up the slack around a mother is hard work.
I’m pleased it’s working for them and it would be marvellous if more of the 6/7 women did this, but until the State stops subsidising single motherhood it won’t happen

‘I’m not a feminist. I don’t believe in it at all. I think we’re trying to fix a way of living,
of life and relationships, that wasn’t broken.
‘I have friends who would describe themselves as feminists, but they are mostly single.’
Brilliant. Absolute gold!
My day is made.

sorry, I know it seem nice, but I’m not holding my breath.
give about 10 years and these people maybe looking to divorce and the all important “I’m the primary carer therefore I get the kids and the assets” kicks in. The images in that article looks a bit too squeaky clean for my liking and not enough realism.
remove that possibility and then we will see if people are willing to play these traditional roles.
I do like the idea that these women decided to make the at home parent the main focus of their attention rather than try to juggle a poor commitment to work and in turn a poor commitment to parenting( because I’ve been there and done that). Its hard enough on parents when only one can give full time attention and the other is working( regardless of whether its the man or woman being the main breadwinner).
Besides in this world of multiple career these woman( and the men) will end up changing jobs and careers at some point, so maybe best to do so on their terms rather than being forced to by say retrenchment.
better to be good and focus on one thing at a time rather than attempt to multitask and do poorly in all areas.

Place your bets – who will be the first left wing luvvie / feminist to have a tantrum about this “socially regressive situation”?
Phillips?
Greening?
Greer?
Watson?
Who knows?
